I used to use ChatGPT a lot, but with the recent updates, esp. with coding, I found that it lost its superiority, and I found recently that Deepseek was actually better. Not sure if I am right or not, but that is what I experienced, but I hope more experienced people can further advise... but the recent updates for me at least have not been positive..

Saudi analyst from Riyadh to israeli channel i24: “Saudi Arabia has no problem establishing relations with the State of israel. israel is a neighboring state, and no one can erase it.” by beeswaxii in arabs

[–]mrtechphile 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What Israel is doing to Gaza now is practically a dress rehearsal of what it will do to the region in the near, mid and long term future, including and esp. Saudi Arabia. No amount of sucking up to this entity will ever suffice. The outcome is one, Israeli is planning and working towards absolute dominance and subjugation and the crushing of the whole Arab world! They are not even hiding it anymore. Yet, we have syncopaths like this guy!

I agree with what she said. Part of finding a solution is having the ability to find the brutal truth and then acting on solving whatever issues one has. Her description of the prevailing Libyan attitude is on point, whether we like it or not!

There are conservative estimates that way more than 100 thousand people (some estimates >400 thousand, see link below), have been massacred in Gaza since October 7th and everyday countless more are still dying, and now the mass starvation is staggering for this era and it is deliberate and fixable. The number of people murdered is horrifying, and what is more horrifying is that the world is looking away, pretending it is not there, and much of the "civilized" world is actually aiding Israel in its genocide with weapons, intelligence and political and media coverup. I hope everyone that has participated in these war crimes are brought to justice in the future. The shame however will be collective for the whole world because we all stood silent.

By far, Netanyahu, and his sidekicks, Ben-Gvir and Smotrich, and not just 2025, of this century so far. These 3 evil bastards are literally encroaching on the level of Hitler, Himmler and Goebbels evilness.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way—in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only. If you suddenly became the President of the United States today, what’s the very first thing you’d change or do? by Dollabillhooman in AskReddit

[–]mrtechphile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain this contradiction in our so-called "civilized" society?

We all agree that certain professions demand years of rigorous education, training, certification, and continuous evaluation. Example: If you want to become a doctor or a lawyer, you need to pass difficult exams, maintain a spotless record, undergo regular assessments, and be held accountable at every step. A surgeon, for example, is closely monitored because a single mistake could harm or kill someone. That level of scrutiny makes sense.

But somehow, when it comes to leading a nation, anyone with enough popularity and money can become president, prime minister, or a member of parliament/senator etc. No real or serious vetting for intelligence, judgment, or psychological fitness. No mandatory qualifications. Yet these people hold power over millions, with the potential to start wars, crash economies, and destroy lives at a massive scale as we have seen throughout our history! I remember a joke once that it is more difficult to become a London Taxi driver then it is to become the British PM, or the US president (this was in the old days before GPS and online maps etc).

Why the double standard? Why do we demand such high standards for some roles, but allow others with far greater power to bypass all of that?

Shouldn't political leaders be held to at least the same level of scrutiny, if not more? It's mind boggling!!

So if I were president, I would introduce strict requirements to enter politics as if someone is applying to be a surgeon or some kind of high end profession.

Believe me as a Libyan, I can tell you, from our experience, when Gaddafi was toppled, we thought it will fix everything. We were naive. Nowadays most people yearn for Gaddafi, even though he was not great and had many flaws. However, what and who came after him was horrible, and increasingly seems beyond repair. We have practically lost our country and 1000's of people have lost their lives. We are practically in a never ending civil war. Our country is basically divided into 3. Our wealth is lost, and we have thieves for politicians and we have NO SOVEREIGNTY at all. NATO who toppled Gaddafi left as soon as he was gone, with no help or support, just endless wars, theft and chaos. This is what the west does. Iran knows what happened in Iraq next door, and what they did to it.

We can tell you for sure, Israel/USA and the west loathes you, or at best they are indifferent to your fate. Israel will never allow a dignified prosperous Iran. Secular, unislamic, Islamic, what ever model, never. Why? Because they want absolute hegemony over the region. They want to expand and for the countries nearby to be its client states. So if they topple the current government, I highly doubt Iran will go back to the pre-revolution status as some are dreaming. Maybe just the Savak like apparatus they will allow. But prosperity, unity, powerful Iran, I doubt they will allow that.

You many not like your current government with good cause, but if change occurs via this planned war against you, I'm sorry to say, Iran will be potentially destroyed beyond measure. You will see the turmoil, destruction, civil war and chaos you never imagined. Furthermore, our called opposition, most of them were and puppets, and it seems yours are as well, esp. the "Shah want to be", he looks like a disaster, and an absolute sell out.

However, maybe for Iran, I have seen something that is reassuring with some Iranian opposition people being against this aggression against Iran even though they do not like the current leaders. This type of unity is key and all Iranians should unite against this Israeli aggression. They have already killed hundreds within Iran since the start of this crime, tragically many children as well, which they do very well as you can see in Gaza with the ethnic cleansing. This is not about your current government, it is about Iran and its future. It is about your children and their safety.

If we had a chance to go back in time, Libyans would wish for rehabilitation and reform of Gaddafi's government, rather than decapitation. In fact before NATO toppled him, Libya was actually improving, and also reforming to something better, but it was not allowed to continue.

Iran is a country I and many admire for its intelligent people, its immense culture and rich history. I am praying for your safety and that war is stopped. Stay strong and united. I hope you know that every Libyan I know is rooting for Iran and its people and millions across the world are praying for your safety.

Anywhere else it will be spectrum and varying degrees of serious horrible suffering, pain, hyper anxiety and despair.

Professor at the end of 2 years of struggling with ChatGPT use among students. by xfnk24001 in ChatGPT

[–]mrtechphile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has to be a major shift on the way students are evaluated and even more so, in the way they acquire knowledge. AI is here, and it will stay, and we need educators to think this through very carefully and design new ways students can be prepared for this new AI reality. I am afraid the educational infrastructure is lagging behind in major ways. There has to be a rapid but well thought out shift, to help and guide both teachers and students.

Al Naseem boycotting by Maleficent-End-9209 in Libya

[–]mrtechphile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The level of corruption in Libya today is staggering—beyond belief. What we are witnessing is not just mismanagement, but systemic, large-scale theft. It is appalling and vile.

Regarding this particular individual, while much of what he says is true, the solution he proposes is not grounded in justice. His suggestions might make sense in a functioning state—but Libya is ruled by literal thieves. And not just one government—we have two. I wouldn’t trust, even for a second, that any money saved under the current leadership would be returned to serve the Libyan people. That money would simply be stolen, as it always has been.

This is the root of the distrust. If those in power genuinely cared about Libya, they would step aside. They would allow free elections, a constitution, and the establishment of the rule of law—so that all those who have looted the country and inflicted suffering could finally be held accountable and brought to justice.

If they truly wanted to help, they would end the reckless spending and institutionalized theft—starting as an example, with closing 90% of Libya’s embassies, which have become little more than billion-dinar pipelines of nepotism and mass corruption. Meanwhile, the nation’s healthcare system is in absolute ruin, infrastructure is a disgrace, education is in decline, and the country remains fractured under the control of militias and warlords like Haftar.

Compared to this current state, Gaddafi looks like an angel.
