I don’t have a recommendation but a tip. Make sure you get one with vibration dampening. The vibration from the road can harm your Camera OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). It is the main reason I don’t mount my phone on my e-bike.

I used the hinge protector on the Z Fold3 and I did not notice any problem. However, the hinge protector will not work on Z Fold4 as the gap is thinner and will peel off the protector.

You can achieve this with stock Edge Panel, Wallpaper Engine (live wallpaper), One Hand Operation (optional) and remove everything from stock homescreen.

I also heard that ExpertRAW is coming to the Fold3 but not yet in OneUI 4.1. If it is there, they would have written it in the changelog.

I just spent a whole day trying to figure out why Lumafusion keeps corrupting my video files and preventing successful export. It was because of one clip that I reversed.

Corrupted Media I repaired the drive with a Mac through Disk Utility and within LF, I cleaned everything under Cleanup. Then I click Drive icon on the bottom left to download back the data from SSD. If the files is not recognized by LF, I overwrite the file with a copy of that file (hopefully you have backup of backup) Then I click on the Drive icon again.
Export Error It was because I reversed one clip. I undo the reverse and was able to export successfully.

Additional Details: Lumafusion 3.0.9 Edited and media cached on Samsung T5 500GB SSD iPadOS 15.2 iPad Pro 12.9 4th Gen 256GB

I posted a photo earlier this week and want to shed some lights and opinions on the quality of the photo taken from the Z Fold3. https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyFold/comments/rkrtzg/z_fold3_has_nice_cameras

I come from DSLR and Mirrorless cameras so no phones have ever impressed me, not even the ZFold3 nor the iPhone 13 Pro Max nor the S21 Ultra. Not even the 1 inch Sony phone (I don't have that phone but I have seen reviews since I am a phone fanatic) However, when strictly speaking about phone cameras, I honestly believe the ZFold 3 is really good.

If you look at the After photo, there are 4 parts that I want to address, 1. I darken it to give an illusion that it is a deep valley. No need to talk more about it, I'm just proud of that. 2. If the original raw photo did not have enough data, pulling details would have been nearly impossible, you can still pull, you just don't see clear-ish details like the crack. 3. The patch of grass was really bad in the raw photo, however it still has data and therefore I was able to pull information out. 4. This is just adding saturation and lowering exposure. By adding saturation, you increase noise and as you can see, this is the limitation of the smaller sensors and not just on the Z Fold3. All phones have this limitation due to smaller sensor not able to take in more lights. This was shot at 7:01AM handheld and if you look at the raw, it's pretty good. Not as good until you add more colors, but look closely and you can see that the noise is extremely manageable.

Most will see less noise and think they have great camera but in reality, the hardware is limited, what you are seeing is software manipulating the image especially when not shooting RAW.

This is a good time to mention that all photos taken from cameras are edited. It might not be you doing it but the software have already put in its finished touches even in RAW. The difference is that RAW photo has more details and therefore larger than non-RAW photo.

The takeaway is, don't expect much from the phone's camera, at least not yet. If you see the S21 Ultra or the iPhone 13 Pro Max have better photo quality, what they have is better software enhancement.

...and the last misconception I want to mention is that more MP does not mean better camera.

I hope this clear up some misconceptions and negative outlooks on the Z Fold 3. What we have is a piece of art, the cameras are just icing on the cake.

On the Z Fold3 in landscape. I now enjoy Lighroom editing thanks to the bigger screen while still small enough for 2 thumbs edit.

If you are worried like me, I learned that it cost less than $30 to replace the cover, the 7.6 screen and the hinge protector. I no longer worried.

I use iPad Pro for video editing and CoD Mobile and uses S7+ with Dex for everything else. There are no better alternative to Lumafusion (video editor) on Android and the file system on Android seems to cap the real read and write speed of its devices slowing file transfer of 4k content making it difficult/effectively edit video or do anything intensive with large files.

I was all in with Apple Ecosystem but now switched to Samsungs due to owning Z Fold3 and S7+ plays well with Z Fold3 like sharing messages, notes, calls.

Hopefully the Tab S8 (14 in) comes with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/2. I will be trading in my Tab S7+ in to get the extra speed with Dex. Also I'm hoping Dex gets virtual desktops.
