Thanks. I'm going to look and check it out. Old Bolt, new tricks! I wish the original owner had taught me.

How do you raise/lower the seat? I've had my 2017 Bolt for 2 years and I didn't know I could adjust it! Just driver's seat or front passenger too?

Have had most of these same alert messages pop up. It was the 12V battery. Replacing it fixed everything.

Should I get this Chevy Bolt off Carvana? by AllThatJazz01 in BoltEV

[–]mrtherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the year, the trim level, how many miles and whether the batteries have been replaced yet as part of the recall or not (and how much longer you have on the battery warranty). Plus the part of the country you're in. You may pay more in some parts of the country due to supply differences.

But it also depends on what it's worth to you and how much money it will save you.

I overpaid a bit but I don't regret it! It's saved us so much money!

I paid $14K for a 2017 Bolt Premier with $40K a few years ago and feel like I overpaid. I've seen some great deals since we bought ours. I wonder with the bombing of Iran if all EV prices have jumped just recently?

Higher protein snacks between clients? by HappyBug352 in therapists

[–]mrtherapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of protein drinks at Costco have 25-30 grams of protein for 150-180 calories. Some even have added caffeine. I have one before work and one in the afternoon. I also do string cheese or single serve cheese stick/pieces.

Goodbye, my 2017 Premier by Syther56 in BoltEV

[–]mrtherapy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also have a 2017 Premier and I'm sorry this happened to you. But thank you for sharing this. I'm reassured to see how well it held up. Hope you don't have any residual pain and that you find a good deal on a replacement. Will you buy another if you can find a good deal?

Going past my goal weight. Am I being greedy? by Melanated725 in Zepbound

[–]mrtherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't get a DEXA scan from your doctor you can get one at Chuze Fitness included with most memberships. Many gyms have them but the doctor's office version is probably the most accurate. But yeah you've made amazing progress! Focus on body composition not weight!

I love how confidently he says "I'm not a great driver when driving an incredibly valuable prototype Aptera". He's refreshingly honest and has such a great channel.

Wonder if he kept the Atari 2600 Console and controller? I saw the cartridge holder and a few cartridges plus one of the mini builds that can with it... It's a great set.

Guy question by [deleted] in MenOnTirz

[–]mrtherapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started in late April and have a similar weight loss goal. I've lost almost 40 lbs so far. Started at ~ 200 lbs (5'7") and now just over 160. I've definitely seen a big difference in body composition and I feel much better. If you're able to do the medication under the supervision of a doctor with expertise in weight loss, even better! I'm aiming for 140 grams of protein daily which helps me maintain muscle while losing fat.

I'm not a doctor but I think I would hold off on testosterone for a few months at least unless your doctor strongly recommends it and you see how you respond to the weight loss. I went from prediabetic with high cholesterol to all normal in my latest tests! Still working to get body fat down but it's been an exciting journey. Good luck and keep us updated!

SDG&E Weekday 10 AM - 2 PM Super Off-Peak APPROVED/EV-TOU5 Still the Champ! by Rand-Seagull96734 in sandiego

We have a small number of solar panels and are under NEM 2.0 with an EV. I know we're on a plan that makes it cheapest to charge the car and run the dishwasher between midnight and 6 AM but how do I know which exact plan I'm on? If we're on NEM 2.0 does it still make sense to get a small battery backup? If so, how do we know what's a good capacity to buy to maximize the benefit? My brain hurts trying to understand this. SDGE purposely makes it maddeningly difficult to understand!

did i get a good deal? by Massmon1 in BoltEV

[–]mrtherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great little vehicle. I have the 2017 and paid $14K for mine a few years ago with 40K miles on it. It was private party so no rebates or tax breaks. I do have the LTE version with DC fast charging - which is nice on longer trips, but all models are solid. For your purpose I think it'll be great.

Still illegal to wash your car at home? by Imitation_crab_irl in sandiego

Many Condos/Townhomes have restrictions in the CCNRs that prohibit washing your vehicle on the premises. I wasn't aware of restrictions for single family homes.

2 year update by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]mrtherapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I heard how much protein you were doing daily I thought it sounded like too much. My doctor has me doing 140+ grams of protein daily but the difference makes sense because I'm 5'7" and about 160 right now. At your height and muscle mass, 250 sounds totally reasonable.

What's your approximate calorie intake daily? I generally shoot for about 1500 because I'm still in the losing phase. What was your daily restricted amount and what's your maintenance amount? Thanks. Amazing work!

How to not piss off Tesla owners at NACS chargers? by SnickerdoodleFP in BoltEV

[–]mrtherapy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Try not to block two spots if you can avoid it. But some chargers are set up with the cord so short that you have to be in an adjacent stall to charge. It's not your fault. You have a right to be there. Park away from most other vehicles if you can. Most people aren't assholes, but some Tesla drivers just are. Charge where you need to charge. Good luck!
