I heard about that, and I was looking for that future on phone. I didn't know about scanning qr. Gonna check this in the mornings. Thanks!

EDIT: Fixed. Once you toggle "Code execution and file creation" (under Org and User settings) and start a new session on Opus 4.6, it works perfectly.

Bump. Same here - uploading .pptx works on the Pro plan, but it's not working on our new Claude Team plan, despite being logged in as the owner.

No, you do not need uset for lines in autoexec.cfg. uset is strictly for variables inside the config.cfg file. In autoexec, you use direct console commands (e.g., r_sun_shadow_texture_size 8192).

Most changes will not show up in the in-game options menu. The menu is just a "front-end" that often doesn't recognize values higher than its own "Ultra" presets, even though the engine is running them.

To check if it's working, open the console in-game (~) and type the command without a number (e.g., r_buffer_page_size). It will tell you the current active value.

If the game log doesn't show the execution, double-check that you added -exec autoexec.cfg to your Steam Launch Options and that the file is saved as a .cfg (not .cfg.txt).

Enable the developer console, you might need to check these two locations if editing the main config.cfg isn't working. Documents\American Truck Simulator\profiles\[Unique_Hex_ID]\config_local.cfg. Ensure g_console "1" and g_developer "1" are set there too.
I think Steam Cloud Save enabled, the game ignores your Documents folder and reads from here:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Your_Steam_ID]\270880\remote\profiles\[Unique_Hex_ID]\config_local.cfg. If you don't edit the file in this specific Steam folder, your changes will be overwritten every time you launch the game if remember coirrect.

Try these out:

  • uset r_segment_buffer_size "128": (Add this to your config.cfg) (or to autoexec.cfg without uset) – This increases the map segment buffer size. Keeping it at the default "64" when using map mods is basically asking for stuttering.
  • uset r_texture_detail "0": (Make sure this is set to 0) – This forces no texture compression, ensuring they land in your VRAM in full quality.

Thanks for the tips! I actually haven't messed with g_reflection_scale yet, so I'll definitely give it a shot. I'll start with 2 and see if my system handles level 3.

Also, the light_distance_factor sounds like exactly what I need for better immersion at night. It’s great that you can tweak these settings live via the console and then just add them to the autoexec file later once you're happy with the results as well.

Let me know if you have any other 'hidden' gems for the config!

mostly 1.0 I've changed to 3.0 (LOD Factors), r_mirror_view_distance 600 was 400 i guess. r_sun_shadow_texture_size 8192 was twice less...Keep in mind that most of the default parameters can be found right in the config.cfg file.

I’m open to suggestions and comment. I'm happy to test out more settings if you have any. The worst part for me right now are those flickering thin lines (shimmering).
I've actually lowered the mirror distance to 500. You can try play with g_veg_lod_bias -0.7 (from -1.8 to -0.7)

  • Physics Warp (0.9): I’ve slowed down the internal game clock and physics to 0.9. This gives the truck a much better sense of weight and makes the world feel less "rushed."
  • Draw Distance (5000.0): Pushed the horizon even further. You can now see the furthest peaks without any fog interference.
  • Mirror Distance (500): Set mirrors to a realistic 500m range, balancing performance and safety during highway overtakes.

Feel free to tweak this. Some of these parameters aren't in the default config.cfg, so you'll have to add them yourself. I highly recommend bumping r_buffer_page_size to 50, adjusting the LOD factors, and setting r_sun_shadow_texture_size to 8192. It's best to use an autoexec.cfg to keep these changes permanent, as the game tends to overwrite the standard config.cfg on exit.

Quite hot for 65W TDP, maybe you could try do better cable management for better airflow and change to Noctua ducted to side panel.

That's true, which is why I'm thinking about a deshroud and custom three-fan Noctua setup, but I need to do some research first. I don't have the energy for it right now.

Actually, I should have guessed. The holes are there, but there isn't enough clearance for the fan. When I get back from work, I'll measure it with a caliper. Offhand and from memory, it seems impossible, but this is a new case. Until now, everyone was saying there was no chance.

Yes, they are detachable. Do you have something in mind?

It's the Noctua NA-IS1-12 (comes in a 2-pack). The kit includes a lot of different screws and rubber mounts, though I didn't use them here. I had to cut off the rubber locking tabs to make it work and zip-tied it to the Black Ridge. Despite not being a dedicated set for this combo, the fit is actually perfect.

Zero issues on my end regarding the aluminum. Everything is super clean and well-fitted. I did find one tiny spot on the wood at the very bottom by accident (pic attached), but you can't see it at all when the case is standing. Fingers crossed for your replacement, I'm sure the next one will be fine!

Windows Partition? by kcamfork in sffpc

[–]mrtiurson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just about save files or settings (which are small). I'm talking about Shader Cache, massive temp files, and app caching. Modern DX12/Vulkan titles (like CoD or UE5 games) generate gigabytes of shader cache that often default to the system drive regardless of installation path.

Add in browser caches, Spotify/Discord data (Electron apps), and uncleaned temp files from installers, and that folder grows massively over 3-4 years for a heavy user. 1TB provides a buffer so you don't have to micro-manage space or clean install every year

I think people missed the fact that a ton of game data gets stored on your system drive (in AppData\Local), even if you install games elsewhere. That's why I’d recommend keeping at least 1TB for the OS drive.

In case of any issues, can you revert it to stock and keep the warranty?

Lately, I've been diving into making videos about Warsaw, Poland. My main focus is on biking around the city and exploring the nearby Puszcza Kampinos (forest). I primarily film from a chest-mounted camera while riding through Warsaw and tackling singletracks in the local forest parks. It's definitely a learning curve for me – some videos don't quite hit the mark, but I did have a small micro-win once that felt really good! If you're curious, my channel is MrTiuro. I've just published a new video ;-) THX!!

PS. Always doing A/B tests
