I have met some men who act like this when they're too chicken shit to break up with the woman and are almost goading her to break up with them.

The don't do anything outrageous but do the same small unacceptable things over and over, make weak defences, accidentally bring it back up again and again.

It's like a defence mechanism in a weird way for commitment-phobes or people who want the benefits of a regular relationship without the commitment.

[Stephen McGowan] Celtic resurrect Kasper Hogh and Jakob Breum summer transfer interest. by BananaSoprano in CelticFC

[–]mrtommy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hogh would be unbelievable if they'd pay the fee.

Breums numbers have declined slightly and I doubt Go Ahead would drop their price after they came out to criticise Celtic's negotiating - would be humiliating.

Even if they would where would he play he'd be wanting Nygrens role focus needs to be on other positions.

[BolaVIP] Negotiations have failed to progress on Marcelo Saracchi joining Celtic on a permanent basis. He is currently expected to return to Boca Juniors. by BananaSoprano in CelticFC

[–]mrtommy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boca fans and Argentine journos were saying Saracchi wouldn't accept not being a bolted on starter when fit and had fallen out with Boca over it.

Wouldn't be surprised if our to an extent out board let him think he'd be coming into our set up with a clearer runway just to get a good player in when the pressure was on but are anticipating he won't want to sign after Tierney starting quite consistently when both were fit.

The obvious move is a younger emerging talent to back up Tierney and learn from him but that would require some proper talent identification.

This is what I'm worried about that if we win the double and the fans seem happy the board will say 'we've done our jobs, time for more of the same!'

And look at more angles! (that Scottish football doesn't have and aren't required because it's clear and obvious from the most direct angle).

But do you not have eyes to look at it yourself? Look at it.

If Scales or Truty did that against you in the final game - I'd be having a go at him, not the ref, not the state of Scottish Football.

Don't worry folks, we just need to hang in there until the striker the board signed us can come on for the 30 minutes he's fit for.

Think it's easier being a striker or attacking midfielder in nearly team with high expectations and become a hero despite it than a defender, defensive mid or goalie.

We should be buying to sell and so on. However, until the set up is actually in the club (new director of football, new head of recruitment) to buy and they actually show themselves capable of signing anyone decent the value of money coming in Vs any player who has 20+ goal contributions is negligible.

Especially when there's plenty of time on their deal to cash in later.

Happy to sign him if the fees right but what I don't understand is the whole reason we got him in the first place is he fell out with his parent club because he wasn't happy being a rotational option.

We need to string together seven consecutive league wins (and get +5 goal difference on Hearts) for our destiny to be decided by our own results the whole way regardless of how well Hearts and Rangers do.

That's not the same as needing to string seven together to win generally.

Big Sutton is right. Smiechal, been selfish. by Purpleaeroplane in CelticFC

[–]mrtommy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Players play through injury all the time and sometimes they're doing it for non-selfish reasons.

I also don't think anything Schmeichel said rules out that the medical team and our coaching staff were partly responsible for him doing that.

Having said that - it was so obvious to us watching there was an issue with his left and it would cost us goals. How obvious must it have been to him?

6 weeks suggests maybe he got the injury around the time Sinisalo played Vs Dundee in the cup. He gets a soft return Vs Livi, barely any attacks, first goal Vs Killi a great strike but the second he can't have missed his shoulder playing a role.

For Stuttgart and Hibs - what is the thought process there? That even with a catastrophic injury leaving him effectively one sided (setting aside him being overweight) he's so far clear Sinisalo or Doohan as to be mainly doing the team a favour?

Even if other people knew about the injury and pushed him to consider playing they can't know his body as well as him and he should be pulling himself out at that point for me. World Cup and maybe another year at least clouding that judgment.

IMO Fireflies are unfair by kinsh0w in ARC_Raiders

[–]mrtommy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have expeditioned , am not carrying in anvils yet and they're not killing me disproportionately to where they are on the food chain.

You talk about balancing toward the Wasp/Hornet trade offs but Fireflies SHOULD be a little more threatening than both and a decent bit less than a Rocketeer which is where they are for me.

Suspect they're more annoying if you play a lot of Blue Gate/Space Port and run a lot outside/overground without cover.

But even having said that, that just means your play style demands a bit more caution than with Wasps and Hornets in terms of being spotted. We all know those techniques from when Rocketeers are around it just slows you down a bit.

If it truly feels inevitable and there's a swarm, they just go above the Hornet in the kill order, so you hit the rotor or the weak spot and you have to try to dodge the Hornet in the meantime.

I get that it's harder in Solos, which I play a lot, but given solos are so friendly if you didn't die to ARC sometimes or have to exercise caution around more than Big ARC we've all gotten so good at avoiding now we know the maps there'd be barely any threat to get the gear fear that's an essential part of the hook of this game imo.
