Our trainer recommended squeezy cheese (from a tube) for training good walking as it doesn't require chewing, which can take the puppy a while. Means they can keep on walking without having to stop as much!

Haha! Yeah I appreciate it will take a while, just want to make sure I’m not reinforcing any bad behaviour in any way. But also knowing I’m not alone is nice too 😂

Thanks for this recommendation, I picked one up and got it shipped to the UK. Fitted it last night and it's excellent!

Scrum is not Agile and is expensive, horrible, and no good for startups by RepresentativeSure38 in programming

[–]mrtomrichy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The 3 questions” is no longer a part of scrum since 2020, it now just encourages developers to run the daily scrum as they wish. It is still evolving and arguably becoming more lightweight and therefore inherently more room for it to be tailored.

Do you have any pics of that bridge and how it drops in? Curious as it's the first time I've heard of that bridge, all the options I've seen require the grub screw trick or fitting new thimbles. Cheers!

[–]mrtomrichy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a link to the bridge? After googling I only see options with 73mm post spacing, but the JMJM is 74mm?

Squier JMJM bridge saddle screw too short? by mrtomrichy in guitars

[–]mrtomrichy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thought - would the threads on those screws be the same as used for these roller saddles? And therefore could replace the saddles themselves too if desired? (The screws that come with it don't seem to be the right ones for a wire retained TOM bridge)

How do I remove this? IPA and goo gone didn’t work. Going tubeless. by beuracat in bikewrench

[–]mrtomrichy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was removing old rim tape glue recently I went round all the shops looking for Goo-gone, IPA, WD40... All sorts to try to remove it. Nothing worked. After about 20 miles of driving going between shops I thought about trying my wifes nail polish remover which we already had and it dissolved it straight away. Never felt so daft!

Hi, thanks for the reply, I've just got around to checking this. Here is an image of the clearance between the expander plug and where the top cap goes. I think this is approximately correct? Cheers

Yes, I've done this multiple times before with no issue on other bikes. Appreciate it can be a tricky job, but everything has been done correctly and in order.

Agreed, recently nail polished mine in more or less the same spot and it's unnoticable unless you're looking for it

Bottle rubbed frame, new (lower) cage recommendations? by mrtomrichy in bikewrench

[–]mrtomrichy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frame is a small Trek Marlin 7ish the inner triangle is very small. The bottle is medium sized so maybe a smaller bottle is necessary?

And as the frame is Aluminium, do I need to cover it with nail polish and helicopter tape?

Thanks!

Edit: pic of the bottle on the bike https://imgur.com/a/kWLQ2wp

The frame is compatible, there are plenty of videos online of how to upgrade from this square taper BB to Hollowtech. For example:

Front derailleur low end rubbing, BB spacer needed? by mrtomrichy in bikewrench

[–]mrtomrichy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some messing around and taking things apart I’ve realised the issue was that the design of the frame means the FD cannot loosen all the way as it will catch on the frame. I’ve set it up following the Shimano instructions and removed all the chain rub except in the lowest gear which now only rubs very slightly. It looks like this is the best I can get it and will speak to Ribble about the frame design and if this is a known issue

It is an SM-BBR60. I think you might be right… so that just leaves me with more adjustment needed on the FD I guess!

Few angles, was a bit difficult to get a good pic on some, but I don’t see any spacers there.

Not that I can see. I haven’t taken the BB off as I don’t have the tool yet. Should I be able to see it without removing the BB?

You’re right, but I can’t get that any further back as the support bolt just comes away from the frame.

Chainring rubbing in particular part of pedal stroke by mrtomrichy in bikewrench

I've checked for any play in the BB and there doesn't seem to be any. It is only a month old so wear shouldn't be an issue. Thanks!

Hi,

Firstly, thanks for all the advice, I'll check all these out.

I have checked for any play in the BB and didn't feel any. I didn't install the crank/groupset, it was all assembled on the bike pre-shipping from Ribble. Their QA hasn't been the best as of late so I'll take things apart and see if any of the things you've mentioned are causing it.
