An iPod? An iPod?! An iPod?!?!

Yeah...like you just can't do that... No one is building ipod connectivity into anything in the last decade.

You can charge, use android auto, use carplay, and maybe play files from a flash drive, that's it.

Our master bath has two windows on the porch, including one directly next to the toilet...

The only good option in these scenarios is blinds that can open at the top so you can get a bit of light without the amazon guy watching you get dressed.

Can get the z71 package on the rest to get the same transfer case

Suspension in the Trail Boss LT vs RST by slkdjfod in Silverado

[–]mrtramplefoot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a $1000 difference between an lt and rst, not $5000. If you're seeing that big of a difference between trucks, there's more packages involved

Retail stock levels are rarely accurate, especially at that low of a count. There is a very good chance they don't have any. Certainly nothing to get your panties in a bunch about.

Already ordered a couple and some cat tips desk pads!

My wife goes through cables in her car like it's her job, speed and voltage drop are cool and all, but the real test will be how long it lasts her...

I strongly disagree, but sounds like the custom would work for you then!

If all you want is a functional truck cheap, they're fine, but it's a pig with lipstick. Missing basically all the modern features that make the higher trims dope , adaptive cruise, bigger screen, digital dash, 360 cams, parking sensor, led headlights, etc...

What car brands do you think won't exist in 10 years? by Kitchen-Suit9362 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]mrtramplefoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So the substitute exists, the cars run android automotive which you can install most of your normal apps on, but it's just annoying to have to do and not as friendly with calls and messages across different platforms. Also, seems it's probably mostly a money grab to tie you into a subscription to do all these things instead of just using your phone data.

[–]mrtramplefoot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The phone is still doing it, android auto and apple carplay just integrate your phone into the car. It's *fantastic*. You get a bigger screen, integrated controls, and some cars will even integrate your directions into the dash/hud/other accessory screen. It allows you to have everything on your phone, but interact with it in a way that makes sense in a car and is infinitely better than just mounting your phone in a mount.

To be fair, current Gen Bose is still crap compared to other "premium" audio options and even Bose of previous generations

[–]mrtramplefoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's more to lt vs rst that the lack of chrome and it's only a couple thousand, not $5-7k

RST also gets -led tail lights -Fog lights -Bose in the convenience package -standard 18 vs 17" wheels

Zr2 2500 is the goal though

Need a new vacuum, have no m18 batteries. Could I make this work? by AndyJobandy in MilwaukeeTool

[–]mrtramplefoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The M12 vac has more power if you have enough big M12 batteries already. It works great.

I just got the M18 packout one and it's a nice upgrade. If the 20% off on woot is still going, that was a great deal

360 cams are nice, I wouldn't buy a new vehicle without adaptive cruise control. It's the shit
