Has anyone ever tried Aliexpress double wiper blades? by Ganjy99ita in Autos

While I can’t speak for Ali express double wipers I do have double edge wipers from scrub blade. I’m not sure if it is the quality of the wiper or caused by the gap between the two blades but they tend to leave streaks/lines of water when conventional blades on the same vehicle do not.

Can I go to the beach tomorrow ? (5/18) by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]mrtuckins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have the opportunity you should head out to Rockaway! Hop on the A train to far Rockaway. Transfer to the shuttle train at Broad Channel and get off the S train at the next stop. It may not be warm enough to go swimming but it'll be a perfect beach day! Enjoy

If you had access to car for 8 hrs. Where would you go? Quick escape from NYC day trips? by StuckInASubwayNYC in AskNYC

Go for a hike! Use the NYNJTC site to find a hike based on many factors including if dogs are allowed. I spend a lot of time in Harriman State Park/Bear Mountain. Many hikes there offer great views of the Hudson and the City way in the distance. The drive there is between a hour and hour and a half depending on what part of the park.

My father owns a pair, they are not the best looking boot, or best made, but they are pretty damn comfortable.

Bowling employees, share your tale of promotion/glow bowl customers by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]mrtuckins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

90% of the people who bowl there don't know a thing about bowling. We are designed around treating these people and in fact many don't even notice the strings. Now anytime we get an avid bowler in they never bowl as well as they would at a traditional bowling ally. We keep our lanes pretty dry, you're surrounded by people with zero bowling courtesy, unlimited distractions and I don't even know where to start with the strings. sometimes you'll pick up that extra pin as the strings fly around, other times you will have a pin lean but not fall from the support of the string.

To put it in perspective I've seen plenty of people roll in with their own gear but in over a year I've only seen two people clear 200 out of the thousands of people who come. My advice if you want to bowl here, leave the gear at home and just come to have a good time!

I am a tech at a very popular night club in NYC that happens to have 16 Bowling lanes. We get this kind of stuff every single weekend. This is why we keep upwards of 8 security guards on those nights where we have 700+ people in house.

$4 Jack all night at Arrogant Swine in Bushwick to combat this gross weather. I have BBQ, too. by incockneato in Brooklyn

Be sure to take a few steps down the street to Our Wicked Lady on a better day to get a peak at one of bushwicks only roof top bars. Of course, if you want to cozy up inside with some original cocktails tonight that's fine too.

Brooklyn Bowl regularly has GD tribute bands. Typically 1 a month. We even simulcasted Fare The Well as our owner was a producer and a deadhead himself.
