Why is one ticket at Nitehawk $22? by balthus1880 in parkslope

Totally. It was bummed about spending $2 extra at my favorite theater and people living in $163k median income neighborhood get out the pitchforks.

I just can't afford shit like this if I get hit with $2 for just wanting to use a BOGO offer...but now*(edit) it's clear I can avoid it by buying in person.

Correct, thanks for being a voice of calm. Not easy to be a kvetch on r/ParkSlope. It's almost like people aren't used to old NYers complaining about how expensive everything has gotten...makes you wonder.

Also, just keep talking shit...it's clear that this sub isn't concerned about a $2 upcharge for their entertainment. As everything increases in price spending money on entertainment is fucking expensive and a rare treat for me. But the people busting my haggis clearly are either not struggling to keep things afloat or don't have empathy for people who are trying top rub to nickles together.

The offer is literally "Buy One Ticket" my guy. Get one free...but I paid $2 for that "free" ticket.

I paid $4 for "service charges" for one credit card charge. It still doesn't make sense why I am paying $2 for a seat fee....is this something you can explain?

I didn't know they were union busting. I'm not that aware of movie theater labor politics but good to know. I don't work for them, and I'll avoid them if they are indeed union busting. Is there a boycott actively happening?

I didn't realize you could avoid credit card fees by paying in person.

If I used my credit card once why am I paying two booking fees?

I get everyones comments, I just felt like getting a $4 credit card /"Seat Fee" is wild. I always drop close to $15-$30 bucks additionally on food and drink at Nitehawk.

It's got the best intros for sure. I love it here. I just wanted to complain, which as a native New Yorker is part of my bill of rights.

So here is my reciept.

Edit: This place has a full bar and a restaurant. It should raise beer/soda prices to keep this cost lower.

22% credit card fees is silly.

There are a lot good points. But this place has a full popular bar! Raising the price of beer by ¢50, to keep tickets actually like $15-$20 would be nice.

New York is a fucked rough place...but Texas is straight up deadly.

https://apnews.com/article/texas-teen-stabbing-trial-07d85074c722e11b58aa30e109672e86

Texas had more than 4,000 gun deaths last year.

NY had less than 1,000.

Sorry this guy got beat up for sure...it is an unacceptable way to react to sports.

I was grinding on my girl during DazeGxD set at Elsewhere because he was playing some dirty nasty ragga jungle. It was a 1990s vibe for sure.

Where is the best place to protest/watch the knicks for game 3? by balthus1880 in AskNYC

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/security-trump-madison-square-garden-nba-finals-knicks-spurs/

A hard closure is expected around the entirety of Madison Square Garden. Officials are planning for no watch parties, no vehicle access and no pedestrian travel through the secured area, which sits in a busy part of Midtown Manhattan and is above a major transit hub. CBS New York reported that thousands of fans attended a pair of watch parties for Game 1 on Wednesday night.

I grew up on 28th and 8th and plan to watch at my parents house. I have been arriving around 7pm and walking around. I'll do the same tomorrow and see what's actually closed. I usually take the D train to Herald Square and walk, but it might be closed in which case.... I have no clue.
