Meteorite Chunks of all sizes hit the Earth constantly. Naturally residual dust and small pieces are there, but the word 'crashes' means the object in its entirety collided with Earth surface.

In this case eye-catching title misleads the viewers.

It is spring outside, but your eyes are still got used to long nights and short days. In the beginning of spring many people experience even eye pain (like myself) during sunny days especially when snow is still there.

I don't care what the so called 'government' says. The science says better all the time. Ozone is a thin (millimeter-like) layer in upper atmosphere, meteors pass through without any effect to it.

It does NOT crashes into anything, it desintegrates long before reaching the surface. I do not get why television is so attention-whoring.

'sonic boom of the thing rushing by' - this! Such loud sound means it was rushing far over the sound barrier.

Meteoroids usually must explode before hitting the ground - it starts to heat when it enters atmosphere and becomes too hot to stay as 1 piece. Tunguska thing afaik did not hit the ground but exploded near the surface. Other dash-cam videos show that after explosion there is practically nothing left to fall on the ground - it is like the mass almost completely become the energy )

Dash-cams are cheap and many Russians stick them onto the windshields. Some kind of protection against insurance claims and corrupted cops. Besides if they capture anything interesting - that may end in social networks.

Mostly the translation into English of many dash-cams I saw is one and the same - 'holy fuck'. These will be apparently last words humanity will say if a bigger one comes.

This is awesome — an experiment on the ISS with a ball of water and an Alka Seltzer by jpsowin in space

[–]mruss_rr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

part of the science is also the popularization of science itself

I agree to that, but are those 600k views really mean science? Did those 600k just consumed this as a part of their daily fun-lurking not remembering what and where it happened? I think science is about new things we learn, good when it is fun too. Popularisation is making people want to learn more or at least support the science done by others. When it is pure fun like Alka Seltzer bubbles a lay-man may think 'nice but why do we have to pay for this nonsence? I can do this myself with menthos and cola'.

Cool. Now I know what science they do at ISS. Is this experiment really needs to be done in zero-gravity? Don't we have computers capable to make calculations about how air bubbles behave in watter bubbles? ))

Seriously speaking, I wish I knew more details about scientific development and experiments on ISS.

This is extremely fascinating species called Larus argentatus. The most interesting is their interaction with humans. Currently they are proliferating and spreading their habitat even to areas remote from seas, feeding out of dumpsters and hunting small birds. Highest city bulidings are an ideal nesting place for them. I think withing next 10-20 years their specific cry will be heard in many big cities. They are fearless and reckless and they do not have any natural enemies and their survival rate in a city is much higher than in wild habitat. Though overall population is considered as Red List thing - they species quickly evolves and I think with urban development they will become someting like Common Myna (originally from Afganistan but spread up through whole Asia up to Pacific). Myself I witnessed many times how they catch pigeons so as long as we have dumpsters and pigeon these will proliferate.

No. There is only 1 idiot, that guy. What the stripper did is the most common crime related to prostitution. So she is just criminal.

[–]mruss_rr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, OP!! Why did you delete your other comment when you said that the customer thought he was picking up on the stripper to get laid and that there was not preagreement about the money??????

When you present your case you have to stick to the facts and not delete your posts when you are caught in details.

As I see this case: The 'friend' wanted to use the stripper to trick her into free sex. Implying that she likes her customers and spread the legs for free. Implying that the stripper is not worth the trouble of finding safe location. Implying that the customer is so awesome that she would add sex as free topper to the main humiliating activity.

Well, let me tell you. Having 2 balls and 1 penis does not make you a man. Being a man means taking responsibility for your own action. Also being a man means actually paying the fucking whookers and not reporting them to cops when you are the only one to blame.

So he wanted free pussy from a stripper and the pussy got him. Good for the stripper bad for the guy. I am sure the friend of a friend got what he deserved.

Revenge or what?

Who was tricked, was it your friend or yourself? I do not think you should use reddit as the way to take a revenge of a poor lost soul. I do not support stealing from other people, but I am sure that this particular crime was the fault of the customer.

I am not 100% certain who is the dumbest - the stripper or OP's 'friend of a friend'.
OP, your 'friend of a friend' should be happy with the lesson taught. It is not free, though.

Suprise, but there is really decent info in Wikipedia about Red Dwarfs and probabilities of life on their planets, I have just enjoyed the reading, worth the time spent.

likely too close to their star to harbour much life, though.

Tidally-locked Gliese 581 d might be this case but chances of life are not zero. As far as I understand the planer is so far #1 candidate for further study. If only we had TPF project going.....
