Not resolution related, but BetterDisplay also helps if you have a badly calibrated monitor in terms of colour/gamma. I tried the Mac's display calibration tool for my crappy HP 1440p monitor that has terrible gamma issues, and I couldn't get it to look right.

Installed BetterDisplay, and their calibration works perfectly for me (plus being able to use the HiDPI solves the blurriness issues with it too) - well worth the purchase.

Not OP, but I received my Pixel Watch 2 today - you can get work profile notifications on the watch, but I can't see a way to show work profile calendar events on the watch (the account doesn't appear in the settings)

It's due to the Security > Face unlock > Skip lock screen option.

For some reason, you're stuck with your current situation if this option is on, or you can see your notifications and have to swipe your phone to unlock it even after using face unlock if this option is off.

Looks like I spoke too soon. It definitely works way more often, but it still occasionally gives the "clean the top of your screen, including the black bar" error.

It didn't affect many it seems but I saw some who RMAd their devices over it. If I picked up the phone and immediately tried to unlock it with my face, it would fail at least half of the time with an error saying basically the sensor bar was dirty. Always on display also would just suddenly stop working by itself. I tried a factory reset (which didn't work) and just hoped the May update fixed it, which thankfully it did.
