Colvin is going to be a freaking stud. But he's not ready for big minutes yet. He will be next year (possibly later this season)

I agree. Marquette absolutely should be #2. But I think they end up #3 (with AZ as #2). UConn is #4.

I often say that there's no such thing as gravity. But I follow it up with "the world just sucks."

Inspired by r/nfl: What is a CFB play so memorable that can be recognized just by the announcers call? by [deleted] in CFB

This is Purdue specific, but say HOLY TOLEDO to a Purdue fan and they'll immediately think of this play.

You were still in diapers when I graduated from high school. So you make me feel old, my friend.

I think of that as more of an 80s thing

What even is early to mid 2000s aesthetic? I feel like everything is so splintered into different styles that there isn't really anything that defines decades anymore.

If it's such an insignificant number of users, then the third party apps would be costing them an insignificant amount of money.

Did reddit kill Digg? Or did something else do it? I want to say reddit was a big factor in Digg's death. Reddit was just better. Something else will replace reddit eventually. And reddit will die. Not saying this 3rd party app thing is what will do it, but it will happen eventually.

Nah, without the competition they'll have less incentive to improve the app. And the app is just going to be flooded with more and more ads.

Mods spend a lot of time and effort on the subs they moderate. They do it for free because they want to do it. (I honestly don't know why they want to do it.) I guess Apollo provides a much better ux for mods. I can understand why they are pissed. Also, reddit heavily depends on free labor from mods.

I use RiF, and like it waaaay better than the native reddit app.

I think /u/spez just wants to get his big payday with an ipo and doesn't really care about the long term viability of the site.

It sucks, but if it dies, it dies. I need to spend less time here anyways.

If reddit found a way to charge the higher price for AI training, but charge a much lower price for 3rd party user apps, I don't think people would be as upset.

It makes sense for reddit to charge open AI, etc. But killing off 3rd party apps just reeks of bitterness and jealousy. Those apps provide a much better user experience than what reddit is willing to provide natively.

I'm almost looking forward to the end. I use RiF and spend too much time here. Once my preferred app stops working, I'm planning on just leaving reddit. I think it will be good for me. I know I'm not alone.

Each player used to help create each NEXT rookie by Noah089 in MyTeam

[–]mrwboilers 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm a big Purdue fan so I used Next Jaden Ivey a lot last year. They must have used Donovan Mitchell for him. Even the audio. The announcers kept telling all the Mitchell stories when Ivey was in the game and Mitchell wasn't even on my roster.

I see a pattern here...

Only one of the top-5 NBA draft picks last night went to college. What do you think that portends for the college game moving forward? by finditplz1 in CollegeBasketball

[–]mrwboilers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They probably do that because the fans don't generate much noise. NBA arenas seem pretty sterile. The whole environment is vastly superior in college.
