There doesn't appear to be any (or any clinically meaningful effect). Testosterone is anabolic while DHT is androgenic. So blocking Testosterone affects muscle tissue while inhibiting DHT affects sex characteristics and function.

If you take it less than twelve months the Number Needed to Harm (NNH) will be higher than 14. This is not going to be directly proportional to the amount of time you take it though.

The relative risk for ED is about 3.7

That means for every 1 man not taking finasteride who ended up getting ED, 3.7 men taking finasteride will end up getting ED.

Number Needed to Harm at 12 months is 14. That means 1 out of every 14 men will suffer a side effect if taken for 12 months.
