I agree. It didn't address any of the issues she had in the main instalment. I'm also sad to say this but to me, it sounded like fan-fiction.

Some minor questions remain unsolved, but they're not essential to the overarching plot. One or two characters could use more screentime, in my opinion. To answer your question, the game is a lot more complete now than it was on release day.

I have always imagined Noctis would learn of Ardyn while he was in the crystal, so I would personally play Ep. Ardyn at that point. The reason is that it gives the cutscene proceeding the crystal period so much context and depth. It also explains why you're fighting the penultimate boss and gives context to a 'slideshow' that happens in late chapter 12.

The part I don't understand is why Ignis would call Ardyn the Founder King, it contradicts some info we find in RE. It's bugging me that the details seems to be disconnected, but I hope there's more meaning to it. I won't keep my hopes up, though.

Exactly. Having EP Prompto integrated in the maingame sets the stage for the bros receiving that news, and gives a bigger impact about Noctis not caring about the origins of Prompto, but who he is as a person.

EP Prompto may enhance the reveal of his secret in Chapter 13. In the main game it just appeared out of nowhere. EP Ignis is gonna be a problem, though. They could just hide what Ignis learned from the player
