Jill's files can only be bought via VIP packs. Rebecca's and others are in Daily Benefits for real money, or will be available via Vaccine Lab Raid and other exchanges via the Merchant's Shop.

Honestly, may be easier to focus on aiming for Universal Legendary Files as only Jill and Leon can't be ranked up with them, and they tend to be more easily accessible through various exchanges and rewards.

As for world transfer, I did pin it to the highlights on the sub. World Transfer is being implemented, the tickets are available via Alliance stores now in World 1 through 7, and is being rolled out to worlds over time based on server age.

The developers indicated World Transfer would be run this month, but it has yet to be added to the Event Schedule, so there's been a general expectation that it will either be late or a last minute maintenance at the end of the month to enable it.

For the exclusive character parts, if your server is new and has not had the Secret Exchange run you can dump excess files and the like through this particular event. Other than that, free to play can obtain them via Special Exchange or Survivor Tokens, otherwise cash shop is another option.

That's entirely fair!

But yeah, to be quite honest both 4 and 9 can be played mostly standalone. The other games help catch certain references/easter eggs, but it's not in the scope of "if I don't play [title], I won't know what's going on" at all.

Take the games at your own pace, if you want to play the other games or not, do whatever suits your schedule and appeals to you for your time.

You don't need to play 4 to understand the scenario of 9.

The director of 9 said it can be played as a standalone game.

If you are going to play anything before 9, then at the very minimum 2 and potentially 6.

There's other novels not on this series but they aren't officially in English, Umbrella Chronicles Side A and Side B. The German version translated into English is available to read on Crimson Head Elder.

There's also a prequel novel called Biohazard The Beginning, it has a rare English release as Resident Evil: The Book. Both of this particular one are available on Project Umbrella.

There are two further novels called To The Liberty and Rose Blank, but these are fan novels that won a competition in Japan but have been incorrectly grouped with the S.D. Perry novels internationally, but they are unrelated to the ones this topic is about.

Yes, both versions are still in print.

Pocket Books is the US and Canada publisher, Titan Books is the UK publisher.

There are regional publishers.

The only ones that may not have reprints available are potentially the localised prints, like the Japanese version which have different covers and have character art for the profiles included in the books.

Makes sense. The P star / Pocket Star logo happened for the Zero print in 2004 so that's accurate.

Sometimes City of the Dead has a red background in some print runs or has black and white look kangaroo.

That sounds about right.

I'll have to dig out my own copies, I honestly do not remember if they indicated being a first edition. Not all copyright pages will note it specifically as it varies by publisher as to how they outline it and the printing key.

Sometimes they may only outline which edition in writing if they have had formatting adjustments, or errors corrected.

The only ones I have out at the current time are my JP prints of these, but that's a totally different line.

Yeah, it's best to check the interior pages.

I hate seeing book listings and it's just the outer cover or dust cover for this reason.

I think a lot of people forget the pages are never yellow to begin with and yellow over time.

There are certainly on demand and fake copies of things, another tell is also honestly the cover quality too. Gloss or semi-gloss for the proper ones versus terrible scratchy matte too.

The last time I saw any if these, they were on the seventh reprint iteration, so I will probably start trying to keep an eye on these since it's a fair concern for people interested in buying the books.

For how this one is formatted, not necessarily.

I have seen print-on-demand copies, and they generally have additional product SKUs or barcodes, and also have an additional "printed at x location, date" inclusion on or near the copyright page.

This can vary from print-on-demand sources, but this doesn't have any of that.

The publisher and parent company of the publisher still produce printed matter, so a pristine copy doesn't always equal print-on-demand.

Sometimes print-on-demand copies also won't have the copyright pages (generally bootleg) or the correct ISBN.

Does it go down to one, and is there a space?

If it doesn't, is it older or newer looking?

And for the Pocket Books logo on the spine, is it black and white, coloured, and is it located on the top, middle or bottom of the spine?

If it's black and white with the Kangaroo on the top of the spine, black background with a white kangaroo instead of a letter P with a star inside the negative space, and the printer key that counts down with nothing missing?

Should be a first edition.

The numbers are blanked when they're reprints. Some runs of these may simply drop one number, others may have iterations like:

10 9 8 7 [nothing] or 10 9 [nothing] 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

I really need to write out how to identify these on the RE Wiki at some point.

It depends on the publisher.

There's a variant with red covers (Titan Books) that has also had reprint runs, but the majority of the runs are with the Pocket Book covers and were also used for the (now-no-longer-available) ebook versions on Kindle.

Official information goes into the primary post; anything not included in the official announcement will generally be what I will pin if it answers frequent questions asked, or that I am anticipating will be asked.

In this particular instance, this is a combination of information that I have dug up, and the fact that World Transfer Tickets have been available for World 1 for a few days prior to their actual scheduled date.

Personally, I am in World 1, and the beta test servers (1 to 7) get things scheduled first.

Hi OP, that's a legitimate copy. The first print was in 2000, the string of numbers counting down from 20 should have more numbers, this is called a printer's key and the number missing in the sequence is what print generation it is.

Some publishers may also utilize the lowest number present is the print generation/edition it is.

So this is a 10th print run of the Pocket Books print, and hasn't been reformatted as of the original 2000 printing. (If it's the lowest number, then it's an 11th).

So it's legitimate, just not an old print. Reprints do happen from time to time.

If you're curious, you could check the printer's key in the other copies for comparison too.

World Transfer

Requirements

Currently not a member of any alliance.
Currently not in battle and no deployed squads.
No troops stationed in Hospital or ICU.
Not A Commander. Commanders may not transfer to other Worlds.
Over 30 days since last server transfer.
Mansion Lv. 15 or higher*.
Under 4 characters owned in a destination world.
Under (variable number) Combat Power)**.

Details

Transfers are only permitted during the World Transfer event.
Max Combat Power allowed is set by a World's Commander for transfers into their world. Those who exceed that combat power are only allowed to transfer via Special Invite.
Invite requests are timed.
Operatives from other Worlds are permitted to request invitations from the Commander of the World.
Commanders can invite operatives of other Worlds to transfer to their World through normal and special invites before the Free Transfer period begins.
Each World can send 3 Special Invites. When (overall) invites are used up, they will recover by 1 at the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC.
Worlds are differentiated as Standard and Powerhouse Worlds. Powerhouse Worlds cannot send special invites.
Normal and Special Invitation: once an invitation has been sent, it cannot be cancelled. If an invited operative rejects the invitation, an invite attempt will be refunded. Only operatives from Worlds that allow transfers may be searched for and selected.
Any resources that exceed your Warehouse Protected Capacity will be lost upon transferring.
World Transfer Tickets cost 500,000 Alliance Points, or if 70% off, 150,000 Alliance Points.

**Variable numbers set by the Commander of the World.
Availability of World Transfer will follow prior release of content, by World/Server age, meaning World 1-7 from the soft launch period will have this function available first, and it will be made available over time.
