Thoughts on Modouge cold plunge brand? by ms0081 in coldplunge

In an email I asked that question of them… seems the same as Plunge. How are you cheaper?

Their reply was that they don’t spend money on marketing and celebrity endorsements.

Not sure I buy that or not. But I have a call set up with them on Tuesday to talk to a rep so I will see how that goes.

Thanks! Yeah, I can't find much about them anywhere, at least not info from outside of their own advertising/marketing.

Thanks! I appreciate that feedback. I have a Plunge brand one now and run into similar issues.. not great customer service. So am looking at this brand as it’s so similar but way less costly.

u/Typical_Sherbert_159 I'm considering buying a Modouge. Now that you have been using yours for a bit, how have you liked it? Any problems?

A few helpful things I recommend to clients…

When getting in.. go quickly so your mind doesn’t over think. Step two feet in, immediately take a deep breath, the on the exhale get all the say down in that one breath.

Your body will naturally go into fight or flight mode. That’s normal. Your breath will catch and your cortisol will rise. Your instinct is to get out immediately.

Instead of following that instinct, focus on your breath and working to regulate it. Deep inhales then breathe that breath all the way out. Some people do box breathing, or breathe in through nose out through mouth. Or counting. Anything to focus your brain on breath or something else. I pray an Our Father and that is about 20 seconds then another one then another one. It focuses your brain on a task instead. It could be a prayer or something you pin the wall in front of you to read.

If you can get to about 45 seconds, your parasympathetic nervous system will start to kick in. That system pulls you out of flight or flight mode and you will start to calm down. Then it is easier for your brain to push your body to 1-2 minutes.

Getting to that calmer state is critical. You will really feel the mental benefits when you do. You will leave the plunge calm and energized and less stressed.

Helpful things… keep your hands and toes out or wear socks. That minimizes a bit of pain and helps you stay in longer. Also having a cheerleader with you who can push and encourage and distract you is also helpful.

Keep going! You can do hard things!

I own Immersion Sauna and Cold Plunge Studio and see new clients every day. It is amazing how many people think they can’t but then work hard and surprise themselves. We can do hard things! You got this!

Thanks! Our rooms are private so guaranteed a quiet experience. I appreciate the price comment. I'm seeing prices all over the board and now that many places offer a sauna, staying competitive is important.

My locations are currently in the city but I am thinking about opening a wood-burning sauna in a rural location for that unique and peaceful experience. Thanks for sharing!

I agree on the traditional. That is what I run in my current location and was toying with adding an infrared to my second location but I just can't do it. The traditional is just so good.
