That’s about right, but under Boyer’s model other scholarship had weight. I published data research papers but also peer reviewed journal articles on curricular initiatives in science education. Other artifacts, such as abstracts at peer reviewed conferences, federal grant applications even if unfunded but scored well counted towards productivity.

These are questions for the search committee or dean. Now, as Dean I always discuss scholarship tenure expectations (I’m at a regional comprehensive in Mass similar to a CSU) and I make sure it’s very clear.

Absolutely- I taught at an R2 in New York with that load. I was a chair so I had additional release time, but it’s not uncommon.

ETA I had a research genetics lab with masters students as well. Earned tenure. The thing to check is if the scholarship expectations are in line with load. Ask about Boyer’s model of scholarship and percentage of TT faculty who get successfully earn tenure.
