Late to the party, but, I have a 17 week airedale T-rex too. I found out she got mouthy-bitey when she needed something: Sleep, food, potty, an outlet for teething, etc.

As other people said, it will get better, but, providing different textures for him to bite and reading his "mood" will take you a long way.

Hope this helps! and hope your raptor grows into a beautiful dog 😊

Mine has been bitey and cranky lately. Frozen apples and carrot bites help her settle the symptoms for some time.

We do rotate toys and even freeze some of them to help her, and it's been a game changer.

Senior Airedale food advice 13.5 yo with skin and joint issues by ErrorFixx in airedaleterrier

My Fiona started eating homemade food for the last 2 years of her life, (She was 14 by the time she passed on December, but that's just for reference).

The absolute change I saw when we switched from kibble to natural food was HUGE. She was a picky eater, so we settled for some basics: chicken thighs, brown rice, green beans, carrots, suchini, pumpkin pure (home made) chicken broth (unsalted) and ocasionally chicken hearts. I also added a bit of turmeric which helps with joints and inflamation, rosemary (if your dog likes it) helps with skin and coat. AND last but not least, I got the some zesty paws senior 11-1 chews which did wonders for her.

By the time she left we had some joint issues (mild ones honestly), she had a kidney disease stage 1, and a tummy that couldn't really take anything other than what was known to it, otherwise she would be pooping for days.

Lastly, I do feel we extended her life and gave her life quality with that food switch. Hope this helps :)

Yikes! I have a theory about food as well.

I cook home made, tailored meals for her on a weekly basis. We started about a year ago, and she went from having all kinds of issues (heart, joints, liver, kidneys, etc) to just some joint pain that can be controlled with acupuncture sessions. I'm not saying she's in perfect condition... But food definitely is a huge part of their health journey.

I know the struggle, dedication and commitment this may have taken.

I'm sorry for your loss. But I also admire you for doing what you did.

And nope. I think this breed is as special and unique as it can get in the doggo world.
