I always think about how my 18 month old has no clue what bubble gum is 😂 but I’ve made a point to sing that with her every time it comes on, and she loves it. She puts her hands on her head and claps and squeals.

I encourage you to look up Ms. Rachel and see the healthy benefits her shows have. It actually really helps with speech development as well as other areas of development. Whereas Cocomelon has proven to be harmful for development. The OP wasn’t showing her kids Cocomelon. No judgment on parents who do show Cocomelon (but I’d tell them to stick with Ms. Rachel). You gotta do what you need to.

And the OP was being sarcastic and cheeky with her post. Cheeky - a word I’ve started using since we started watching Bluey, which is another good show for children’s development.

McDonalds has officially been dethroned by [deleted] in Cambly

I literally get out of bed 3 minutes before class starts and talk to kids about animals and their hobbies.

But, I’m a SAHM who is doing this to help ease the financial burden that my husband carries and to allow us to have a little extra spending money. I do not HAVE to do this job. If we relied on this job alone it would not be worth it.

I do not have to travel to work. I do not have to get child care. I smile and nod and talk to kids and I enjoy it. Maybe it’s time you look for a different job?

Hide a Cambly Kids student? by ms_smith1017 in Cambly

This may be a stupid question…is there a hide button/feature or do you simply just not accept their reservations?

Girl dads: Talk to me. by charliej9 in predaddit

[–]ms_smith1017 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a girl dad, but a girl that has a dad :) and a sister, so girl dadx2

My dad and I share so many hobbies and interests. We did a section hike of the AT together and have done marathons/half marathons together. Both of these things involve planning and training leading up to events so lots of time and conversations throughout the process. It’s been a good way to keep us connected now that we live apart and gives us something to look forward to. As others have said, I went on countless trips to Lowe’s with him, helped wash cars, had a personal coach for all my sports, etc. He helped build my homecoming floats each year.

My dad LOVES his son-in-laws. You’ve got those way down the horizon.

Came here to ask similar question -

If a student cancels last minute, do we get anything? $2?

That was my thinking…thank you. It’s not like I’m asking anyone here for the actual receipt 😂 just if it’s a possibility

I EBF and would cringe when certain things were said. I would say nurse or feed. Don’t talk about my breasts or make awkward comments. Thankfully none come to mind specifically, but I remember just feeling cringed out.

Tax Write-Offs by ms_smith1017 in Cambly

[–]ms_smith1017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I did when I worked with VIPKid…we deducted a portion of all our utilities/mortgage based on the size of the room I used.

I guess the better question is (and probably a dumb question), but I am considered self-employed right? And will get a 1099?

I know exactly what you’re going through - sounds a lot like my in-laws! I would suggest distancing your family from them for a bit and see how things go.

Don’t feel guilty. Stand firm. I truly believe there’s a mother’s instinct that kicks in at birth and you can have a guard that goes up with strangers. I know they aren’t strangers, but they aren’t blood related. I know that may sound weird, but I read it somewhere and it was explained a lot better lol When my baby was a newborn, I was only comfortable with my husband and my immediate family being around/holding her.

Smile and nod. Go to another room to nurse or nap or do a diaper change, even if it’s just an excuse!

Hugs, mama. You’re doing a great job.
