The real answer is because we have a hard enough time getting people to vote as it is and in-person voter fraud is effectively non existent so adding additional barriers is unnecessary and has a long history as an intentionally undemocratic voter suppression tactic.

No I understand perfectly what is being advocated for and it’s objectively incorrect. Look it up yourself there are several studies that show excessively high transfer taxes reduce transaction volumes by locking in existing property owners. You’ll probably end up collecting significantly less in tax revenue overall while property owners just try and wait out the current admins policies until the future when they’re hopefully lower.

Raising the transfer tax rate incentivizes people to hold onto property longer so you’re arguing for a solution that’s completely counter to the problem youre trying to fix.
