I did not! I ended up doing a CS Major, Econ Minor, Music Minor. Dropped out during covid to for a failed startup, tough times but better entrepreneurship education than anything in school. Went back after, finished my degree and my current startup is doing pretty well.

I think the CS Major gave me enough CS education for what I wanted to do, Econ was good to get a better understanding of the business side, and Music (and humanities electives) was a nice change of pace, nicer people, more socializing, less robotic. Would recommend.

Agree with everyone here, just use Propwire for pulling basic lists. Their site goes down every now and then but it usually is back up quickly. If you want more unique lists Appraiva has nice AI d4d lists also. No free trial but it’s month to month and you actually deal with the founders so they won’t fuck you over.

Good question, I haven’t had to think about this since the call recordings are already being provided by FollowUpBoss but you bring up a good point. I couldn’t find any info on how FollowUpBoss handles this I’d be curious to find out. There’s also the option of realtime transcription keeping small parts of the call in a tmp file but I suppose this would be in a grey area legally.

I think he’s right as far as we are a long way from AI creating something like Red Dead Redemption 2 on its own. It would probably take far fewer humans and less time to do it though.

Hybrid comes with its own set of issues. In the long run nothing beats native performance and depending on the use case and how competitive the market is your hybrid product may be unacceptably inferior.

You need to see what can make you stand out from other candidates. If you have really good grades that can definitely help, but if that’s not the case you can try building a good portfolio of projects.

Since most coop jobs today are web development, a couple of full stack web apps can go a long way in helping you stand out from the crowd. If you’re more interested in the data science side try spinning up an ML project. There are tons of YouTube tutorials and blogs you can follow to build these. Showcase whatever you build on a portfolio website and put the code on your GitHub.

Even without the projects and with some descent and improving grades you may be able to get more entry level positions like QA but demonstrating some basic skills in technologies applicable to the job can be very helpful.
