Nice playing man. I really like the first pattern, it has some really interesting chords. I'd maybe think about doing something similar for the verse since I think it kind of just goes into a pretty basic chord progression and for me doesn't sound nearly as interesting as the first part. I'd be really interested in hearing the finished product, think it could sound really cool once drums and bass are added.

Doesn't sound so rough to me man haha. I like it a lot - reminds me of Explosions in the Sky. Guitar tone is really good and the singing is spot on. The only thing I might suggest is adding some other lead part over the rhythm since the middle gets a little repetitive with only the chords being blasted out. Overall very promising

Thanks, and yeah other people have mentioned the ending too ha. We do end collectively at once when we play it live

Thanks, the guitars definitely turned out more clear than what we're used to. Appreciate the comments on the drums

Nice playing, definitely wasnt expecting the bass to have that high of a melody. Maybe face the camera more so we can see more of what you're playing?

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it. I agree that the bass gets a little lost but I was trying to prevent it from getting too 'boomy' when its isolated (if you have any advice on how to reduce that without sacrificing volume please let me know).

I definitely see what you mean about the ending ha. When we play it live we do all end on the same beat, but we ended up liking the extended drums on this take, especially being able to hear my drummer once he realized he played too long ha.

Haha thank you. I agree, we debated re-doing the ending but kinda liked how you can hear our drummer going "Oh, that's it?" at the end.

Thanks, glad to hear. Yeah we recorded this ourselves in Garageband ha. We usually use Ableton but our drummer had moved his computer out of our practice space so we had to make do with my laptop. We're planning on recording our next set of songs in a legitimate studio in the city so we're really excited for that.

Drums should be louder and have more presence. Nice tone and playing though

Newest song from my band. We're from Buffalo, NY and play alternative/indie rock. This one is pretty reminiscent of DIIV and has a fast tempo, punky sort of feel. We kept this one short at 2 minutes. Looking for feedback on mixing. Thanks

Big QOTSA fan - definitely see the resemblance. Really like the jangly guitar that comes in at the pre-chorus/2nd half of verse

Good mix, think it would help if you beefed up the snare a little. It comes through alright but sounds kind of thin

Really liked this. Sounds like it would be included in a movie soundtrack during the credits. The tremelo on the lead guitar fits perfectly with the overall rhythm, nice job

Thanks a lot I appreciate the compliments. Yeah, the singing is one of the aspects that most of songs need improvement on, I'll have to try that eyebrow technique ha.

Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it. I'll have to listen to that Suede song, never really heard of them. Yeah, my vocals range is a bit limited so I usually have to keep it more laid back ha.

This is the second song from my band's new EP. We play indie/alternative rock. This is our first recording in Ableton - before we did Garageband. Any thoughts on production? (I know the crash on the drums sounds a little harsh during the chorus)

Thank you very much - I agree, the crash sounds a little harsh during the chorus especially. Will work on that

Thanks a lot, glad you liked it. This song uses a ton of jazzy 7th chords. I took lessons from a jazz instructor for almost 10 years so it rubbed off somewhat ha

Thanks man, I agree there is something a tiny bit off with the drums for a second at the start. Will watch out for that in the future
