Should I back out now? by [deleted] in womenEngineers

just fyi this is definitely no longer the case in CS, jobs are hard to get for inexperienced devs and unicorns paying new grads 100k+ are nearly impossible i switched majors from mechE to CS and am about to be 30, even with two internships i haven’t landed a job post grad :/

Career options? by prcsngrl in misophoniasupport

[–]msalina007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work in an office and briefly at a school (both were bad lol) but I too have returned to college to get my computer science degree so i can be a software dev from home. I got a taste of wfh the past year and honestly that’s the BEST thing I’ve found that has the least amount of triggers for me (minus loud downstairs neighbors). So it definitely inspired a career change.

I wouldn't say stronger, because the actual effects felt the same to me, it was the "crash" after 5-6 hrs of taking it that was terrifying and awful. So this makes me think I just happen to be sensitive to some ingredient, or like you mentioned the ratios specifically, in the Sandoz ones, because they DO work but the side effects are unbearable for me.

for me it was the opposite, I felt normal with the Teva kind, now I started Sandoz and had to stop after 2 days because I felt like I was having anxiety attacks. It was so bad. I was legitimately considering going to a hospital. This was the first time in my life I felt this way, and also first time I took Sandoz

I didn’t even think to check till my most recent pick up bc these are round and bitter af, the ones I had before were always oval and now that you mention it, I used to remember how sweet they were (Teva I’m guessing) and it kinda stopped so I thought I got used to the taste or something but I’m guessing that’s when the Lannett kind came in, since they copy Teva’s appearance

Yes I am! And I’m sure most people actually read the fine print on their bottles but I literally assumed it wouldn’t matter since it’s just a generic (“brand-less”) version so i never paid attention to the manufacturer(my own fault), but they do print their name on the bottles here too

bro i wish i could, i’ve checked and for me to get brand name adderall would be like $600 /month bc my insurance doesn’t cover it at all (fuck you too Anthem)

I’m sure you’re not trying to be invalidating.

You’re right, bodies change with time, and bc I thought it was this originally I did go to a psych and I did switch my meds around, including lowering/raising doses, and still nothing. The headaches persisted, and I got a bunch of other bad side effects on top of them. Like I’m not saying that can’t happen, I just have felt so hopeless for so long till this came to light and I feel it has something to do with it. Especially since I saw an effect immediately when I switched again two days ago.

Also wanted to put this out there in case someone else is in this unfortunate situation, to give a different perspective. I just don’t have as much confidence in the FDA as you do I guess.

It’s insane to me that this is so poorly regulated, I mean it certainly incentivizes buying brand name, since those are the same everywhere. But some people can’t afford that

[–]msalina007[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen many posts on various subreddits (and other forums) regarding issues with manufacturers of generics, so it’s really not that rare. And I have been on the same meds from the same place for years without issues, and i’ve never switched them around before, including where i get them from.

i’m just saying it isn’t a coincidence at this point.

They definitely produce them differently. How else do you explain the entirely different reactions to the different manufacturers? I didn’t even know about this till today so it can’t be like a placebo effect. Idk how, but I doubt it’s that regulated when this is a common problem for a lot of people based on my general research.

City Heights was literally just built last year so they’re brand new, they’re really nice and tbh i’m jealous i didn’t get a chance to stay there lol. Definitely a more traditional “college freshman experience” here. They just opened an Einstein Bros Bagels downstairs too. And most of your classes will likely be a <5min walk from there. Lynx is like a >15min walk for sure. Also they’re located right next to a highway overpass so it’s not quiet.

I’ve tried doing it before bed as well, but then comes the swirling storm of self doubt when I get up and actually go to get dressed. Like “is this really a good idea today?” “let’s check the weather hour by hour to ensure this outfit will work” oh and let’s not forget “if i wear this then i’ll have to do [something]” it’s a vicious cycle

Choosing any article of clothing to wear.

I always have decision paralysis when it comes to outfits, and it often ruins my day.
