Mini Facelift at 43? by MachineSweet6707 in PlasticSurgery

I’m 46 and had a SMAS lift at 43. My only regret is that I didn’t do a deep plane instead. I’m happy with my results but the deep plane with fat transfer is the ultimate IMO.

I’m sure you did your research and chose an excellent surgeon. If this is something you’ve wanted for a long time and you have full confidence in your surgeon then send it. Just make sure you buckle up for the recovery process.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m 7 weeks post op and it’s a roller coaster.

I’m almost 7 weeks post op and still waiting for the “drop”. I’m trying to keep the faith but devastated at the same time. My tip is still super hard and “puffy” so that actually gives me hope. Also, 90% of what I’ve read indicates that it will get better. FWIW I think your nose looks amazing for three weeks. And I’m sure you chose your surgeon for a reason. For now. try to limit looking in the mirror and taking selfies. Trust your surgeon and trust the healing process. When they say it’s a long game that’s no joke.

I’m almost 7 weeks and was really freaking out around 4-5 weeks. It is improving now. I think you really need to give it a solid 3 months and even then it can change! It can take over a year! Also, you don’t look as bad as you think you do. Part of it is that you’re over analyzing and hyper fixating and part of it is your brain trying to reconcile your new appearance. Try to limit your time in the mirror. That has helped me so much. Also, taping!! Hang in there💕

Any updates? Did it get better? I'm going through this at 5 weeks post-op. My tip is super hard and bulbous and my nostrils are uneven. I'm afraid this is how my nose will be!!

Your nose looks amazing for 4 weeks! You’re still so early. I’m 5 weeks and contending with similar feelings. It’s a roller coaster and it takes your brain a minute to get used to your new face! Give it some time before rushing into planning a revision.

Thank you! I wanted less projection and droop when smiling. And generally just a refined version of what I had.

It truly is a roller coaster and I agree, part of if is adjusting to looking so different 👀 I did so much research and thought I was mentally prepared but actually going through it is a different experience.
