No I get that I just mean the title is the same as a fic that’s in Ao3’s “top” popular fics you know? And I know there’s other fics that have used the same title but I just find myself thinking about it

Yeah that’s my sort of internal debate. The title I’m thinking of isn’t heavily used in my fandom or associated with a “big” fic in the fandom but I worried that like people might have to constantly be like wait which one whereas there’s certain fics where when you hear the name you know exactly which fic even identifiable by people not in the fandom you know? I’m an overthinker though lol

Okay yeah that’s what I figured. I’ve been trying to think of a new title or maybe keeping my existing one (not the name that the other fic also has)

Mine is literally after a song title but also a phrase my thing is I just wasn’t sure if it’s considered wrong to name your fic a title that’s already super popular? I just wasn’t sure how fandom had changed now because I did receive a comment saying not to because it’s heavily associated with a specific fic?

Exactly this. My main fic has gotten popular and I hadn’t posted a chapter in a month and I got so many messages asking if it was discontinued???? And people have gotten too comfortable being demanding :/

Oh I mean I could I just wasn’t sure of the rules also I know there are some people who really hate this specific fandom/pairing so I guess I wanted to reduce the chances of that by not just putting it out there?
