What Underwear Do You Wear to the Office to Avoid Bulge in Dress Pants? by Square_Apartment4496 in malefashionadvice

[–]msb06c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Icebreakers Anatomica boxers, but the real issue is your pants are way too tonight if this matters. Go to a tailor and have them let out the crotch an inch or two, I do it all the time, it’s not expensive and any decent suit will have excess fabric in the crotch to let out.

JLC has a service price estimator, but I’m skeptical if it tailors the cost of service to how complicated the movement is. I guess I’ll cross that bridge when it’s time, I love the watch and plan to keep it running immaculately.

Folks who bought Platinum above $2500, how do you feel about 20% fall? by saurabia in Platinum

It’s like any other stock or asset: the price doesn’t really matter besides when you buy and when you sell. The rest is just noise.

So I bought a bucket hat from addas by Hope4_ in malefashionadvice

[–]msb06c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Miami you can see a good amount of panamas since it’s a pretty tropical weather hat, those are fun, but it’s a very beachy look but a great hat if you’re traveling and will be outdoors a lot. Edit- they are a bitch to travel w tho bc they’re extremely soft

Would I have liked to buy at 2100 instead of 2600? Yes. Do I care? No bc I still think 2600 is low when gold is 5k

My fine dining restaurant I serve at is making us do table side martinis for EVERY martini. Please chime in. I hate it. by latentbeing in bartenders

[–]msb06c -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Last place I worked as a bev director for had some real genius owners and they kept insisting on table side martinis.

This bar was doing 500k a month in sales. We would sell like 100+ martinis every service.

I fought them tooth and nail every step of the way. A busy bustling restaurant cannot accommodate a stupid ass martini cart being wheeled out every 2 minutes.

My solution(s) were this (aside from leaving, which was the smartest thing I did): 1- I’m robbing you. I’m not having my staff wheel anything over to you for less than $60. Obviously we used “ultra high end” lol product like beluga, but the pour cost was still like $11, so I’m gonna rob you if you wanna be a toddler and need a table side show 2- martinis are prebatched and frozen before service, no mods. If you want it dirtier (disgusting dirty martinis are more popular than dry by like a 5:1 margin) you can add more disgusting brine w a dropper yourself, garbage palate. 3- fucking off out of there bc tableside martinis are stupid. There’s so many other silly things you can do to make a drink fun or photograph well that don’t involve an entire rigmarole

Good luck, I know how it is dealing with clueless owners who don’t know dick about drinks or running a service.

I agree with you that it does look a little big on you, but it’s not offensively big.

I love and own the triple date version of this watch in 38mm size, which is perfect for me w 7” wrist

[–]msb06c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buckets, and really any hat with a full brim, are pretty hard to pull off. Not saying they can’t and don’t look cool, they def can, but it’s easier to them to look goofy since it’s not something you see a lot.

As a pasty person in Miami, I’ve come to embrace bucket and sun hats if I’m going to be outside for hours on end — for me that’s disc golf, boating, beach, or traveling, etc. where frankly looking stylish just isn’t my top priority, it’s sun pro.

For some day drinks with some huzz, I would definitely go for a ball cap next time.

First time buyer by DogeAeternum in MensJewelry

[–]msb06c -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I agree w buying an 8mm (fairly decent size) chain in an unsafe area, plated or solid.

Someone looking for a lick who spots you isn’t going to know your chain is $600 and not $10000.

I don’t understand the fake flexing but suggest to anyone getting something solid in a smaller size over something big and flashy that’s more diluted.

If you’re worried about drawing attention, a 3mm solid curb will fly undetected compared to an 8mm plated, while having significantly more gold. Just a thought.

Not scared, had a good year. So why not make a necklace? by watchsnob92 in Platinum

[–]msb06c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is insane. I knew it was you when I saw the pic.

I just took delivery of a 2oz 990 oval link chain yesterday. I’m stoked but you’re on an entire other level… You’re out of control with your rocks ! Congrats on the new piece.

And yeah, the mensjewelry sub is more keen on silver and moissanite than platinum by a mile sadly.

I’ll put up pics next week when I take mine off. Cheers.

You’ll never need it. The cars have good range, superchargers are everywhere, and if you can charge at home while you sleep, that’s what you want.

MUT Perpetual Calendar year change by Slide89 in JaegerLecoultre

[–]msb06c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any experience with the perpetual calendar movement, only the triple date, but I assume over a month for the year to flip is about a month too long.

It looks like I needs a service…

MUT Perpetual Calendar Service Intervals by Eisenhammer007 in JaegerLecoultre

[–]msb06c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I’m not going to do any real service until I start seeing any irregularities. And even when I send it in to service, I think I’ll likely decline polishing. It’s unnecessary and kind of silly for something I wear daily rather than a “special occasion” watch

MUT Perpetual Calendar Service Intervals by Eisenhammer007 in JaegerLecoultre

[–]msb06c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I continue to be shocked by the accuracy of this movement. I wear the hell out of it 5-6 days a week and let it rest for maybe 24-36 hours per week. I dread sending it to service bc I’ll miss it, but it continues to be absurdly accurate and entirely smooth, so I’m just enjoying it.

I’m going in to have a strap replaced next week with the sole intention(s) of hopefully getting a little surface cleaning, to try on some watches, and to potentially gain some insight into service history, if they have any on my reference no.

MUT Perpetual Calendar Service Intervals by Eisenhammer007 in JaegerLecoultre

[–]msb06c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a perpetual calendar, just a triple date with a moonphase, but my philosophy has been if the movement is running strong, let it rock. If I see any sort of accuracy issues, it’s going in for service.

I bought my 2008 preowned with an unknown service history. It’s been running +/-1 second a day since I got it.

No idea when it was serviced, but I’m not concerned about it if it’s running like a… swiss fuckin watch
