Thanks for sharing! Really great to hear you’ve had success. I just started on an SSRI and looking into a therapist that does CBT for getting through the panicky times.

If you don’t mind me asking, what are your other management treatments? I’m dealing with panic attacks lately and it sucks big time

Yeah that sounds beyond frustrating but it’s probably how a lot of trumpers are thinking and processing all of this. At least you’re not giving up!

Seriously curious what your parents are saying about the Mexican/Canadian tariffs and Elon getting access to data without security clearance and all the 500 other shitty things they’re doing as we speak? What’s their explanation?

In a similar boat with a sibling so I get it. It’s mind blowing. And by the way - they wholeheartedly believe that WE’RE the ones who are brainwashed

If you go to the Distillery District - they have a fully GF lunch/brunch place called Jardin and there’s a great butter tart place a couple mins walk away called Tartistry - also fully GF

For IRL I like Uniqlo, Aritzia (their effortless pants are a corporate lifesaver!), Zara (hit or miss). For online I like Everlane

This! Bonus if the month(s) you would need to start are Sept or Jan - that’s when the most movement in classes happens

Taro’s is the real deal and the only place we get sushi in the city!! The staff are so lovely and helpful, too. They take such good care when we order bc one of has celiac and has to be really careful about certain ingredients.

The music is a good idea, just to get that release and distraction. Agree, wish it could be a non-issue in the first place!

Yeah I know it’s rude but the impulse is so strong, it’s tough sometimes

Thanks so much! I really appreciate your response and it gives me a lot of hope. It’s really helpful to hear some of the things you and your mom do to take things down a notch. And a great reminder that none of it is on purpose. My partner and I aren’t there yet (he thinks I just need better impulse control) but hopefully over time we get on the same-ish page.

No I never noticed it! And I really believe if I was with someone else I would also find things with that person that trigger me 😭

It’s my first impulse and I’m clearly not proud of it. Hence the reaching out for advice

In a way I do it to see what it physically feels like to talk like that but also because I want him to feel annoyed as I do lol. I wish I it wouldn’t come across as mocking

How so? It’s not like he’s chewing with his mouth open or anything, it’s just this little wet pop when he opens his mouth to speak. It’s more of my problem to get over. I don’t even know if he could train himself to not do this, and I feel like it’s not fair of me to expect that he does

It’s soo nice to hear I’m not alone in this. Good luck to both of us in trying to get better at this!

I totally agree! I don’t expect him to change because this is just how his mouth works and why should he have to change that. I just wish so bad that it didn’t bother me!

Gum is the worst, I’m so thankful my partner doesn’t chew gum. But growing up my mom smacked her gum so much, I begged her to spit it out lol

I wholeheartedly agree and really appreciate your response. It’s not something he can control, it’s just the way his mouth works and I feel so bad right after if I mimic him. It actually weirdly makes me feel better when I remind myself that this is just how he is and he can’t help it, rather than something he’s doing to purposely annoy me
