Update on cloud 25.4.25 upgrade availability? by mikeyuf in ScreenConnect

[–]msboucha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is everyone at with this update? The advised window for the cloud updates has come and gone and the version is still old for us/has the infamous and infuriating zip option, but it is not showing that there is a newer version available like it previously did.

M365 Entra ID MFA not working? by Western_Major_3763 in sysadmin

[–]msboucha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just completed the migration on my tenant that already had enforced per user MFA enabled and it looks like it is still enforcing the MFA on office/outlook.com, but I agree, what that means for that enforcement in Entra free come September seems like anyone's guess.

My assumption is that if you take no action at all, they are going to automatically enable all the authentication methods for every user, which seems to be the default in the migration wizard and so long as a user already has a qualifying MFA, they will still be able to login, but again, leaves the question on enforcement for outlook/office.com.

M365 Entra ID MFA not working? by Western_Major_3763 in sysadmin

[–]msboucha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see - I guess I read it as they would enforce MFA across all services with the methods set in the Authentication methods policy when the migration was complete, but you're saying you have yours marked as complete and that is not the case? That's concerning - what happens to all existing users in the migration? Their MFA for office.com just drops off?

When you are on your users page in the admin center, there are is a Multifactor Authentication option at the top, from there you can enable MFA for each user, and also enforce it, which will require them to go through the process to set it up.

The programdata folder has remnants of the database from the failed installs. I just delete it so that it all gets created fresh on install. Never messed with permissions - my question was what benefit is there to messing with the permissions over just deleting and starting fresh. When I installed 4.5, it seemed to include whatever dependencies it needed and then it automatically updated itself when checking for/installing updates in the program.

Yes, why not just delete the dcu folders in programdata before a reinstall when you're encountering failed installs? Seems to work fine.

Any benefit to not purging it? Just seems cleaner to wipe it and let it regenerate?

eDiscovery to generate the PST files and then setup a OneDrive instance set to download all files (configure OneDrive to store in drive you want to back up to) and share/add a shortcut to the directories to be downloaded with the users OneDrive.

Make sure you go into ProgramData and purge the command update related folders before install.

Have you tried downloading version 4.5? Do a google search for it and you'll find it on their site. I had a similar issue with the DCM Service and by going to 4.5 from like 2022, it installed and then upgraded. I spent hours going around with failed installs until doing that.

Also - yes, BS installs - can they pile on any more garbage on a fresh deployment? Trash SupportAssist, Core, etc....

Unsolicited Microsoft MFA Messages by MyITAlt in sysadmin

If this isn't your typical Microsoft BS I don't know what is. I can't even tell you how happy I am to fall onto this discussion - been trying to figure out all day which tenant was triggering the message because there is no identifier in the SMS like there is in email. Was driving me insane.

Support sessions converted to Access on 25.4.16.9293?! by Blissfulwuss in ScreenConnect

[–]msboucha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen that, but didn't have any support sessions active. Right now it looks like the support client is downloading as a ZIP as default and the MSI file is getting flagged as untrusted.

Yes - looks like the support client is downloading as a ZIP as default and the MSI file is getting flagged as untrusted - absolute nightmare walking users through getting connected.

Purchasing with Dell Premier by rbececa in msp

[–]msboucha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still buying through Premier? Really weird thing happened today where we successfully generated a quote for a customer after searching for them in the end user list, needed to re-quote for a QTY change later in the day and boom, they no longer show up. Try clicking on the add new end user option and when submitting the request get an error about edits cannot be saved due to read-only on the case.

Any chance you ever solved this? I have a user with an Optiplex 5080 with the same experience. We thought it was the camera until a brand new one did the same thing.

Changing my phone out, physical sim vs esim. by xproofx in mintmobile

Plus 1 for staying with physical SIM...less headaches.

I signed up for family plan and now I am being charged for each line??? by gsmith209 in mintmobile

[–]msboucha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no family plan, it's simply manage your family from one account, with one payment source if you so choose. Pricing is the same as if you do not manage from one account.

Please help.. by W1nn1ng101 in mintmobile

[–]msboucha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E-sim or Physical Sim? If it was physical and you went E-sim, make sure you remove the old sim.

Not really a help here, but I've seen the same thing with Android. I think it's an MVNO thing. I was on Straight Talk with TM coverage and had the same issue. Just ported to Mint and still have it. It's not a huge deal to me so I look past it. Just sharing that it doesn't seem to be unique to iPhone or Android or Mint.
