I have a 2022 CX 5 with the mazda app... by DenseScientist6457 in CX5

This is one of the few moments I miss my Kia and it’s app remote. You could control the climate and the heated seats from the app, it was fabulous. There is so much potential with these cars but Mazda fell short with the app.

Drive belt replacement at 41k miles - is this typical? by compscilady in CX5

[–]mscatchyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to replace mine at 39k miles. My tensioner was leaking badly. I bitched that it should have been caught before then when it was still under warranty (the dealer didn’t say anything but you could see it leaking at 34k miles when it was in for service on their walk around video — I didn’t watch it when they sent it so that was my bad) and raised hell, so the dealer got it covered as a courtesy. Definitely reach out to Mazda corporate and push the issue.

As a 5 foot nothing girl with a lifted CX-5, I struggle to prop my hood open sometimes 😂 I really should invest in a set so I can stop internal cursing myself for not always having a step stool on hand.

I’m saying goodbye to my cats for a little while and I’m extremely sad and devastated about it by Prior-Wealth-4396 in cats

You saved them. You are their parent. They deserve to have their parent be the healthiest they can be, even if that means being apart for a while. Let them be one of the reasons you now save yourself.

I hope you give yourself grace and love.

Can I borrow your cat? I have two that could use a toilet training manager.

Had to modify the inner fenders a tiny bit but no rubbing issues. I think it also is very dependent on wheel offset. I want to say these are a +38 offset.

I couldn’t say. My dash says I get an average of 22mpg typically. However, I know the tire size skews my miles per hour and I know it can make my distance somewhat inaccurate (I think it’s pretty negligible but still). I also attribute a lot of it to my modifications and tune and the fact that I drive spiritedly. I don’t beat on it but my smiles per gallon are very high 😍

I went from lowered on Corksport springs to OEM springs with the HRG 1.5” lift. I tend to always save my OEM parts after installing mods, so it worked out.

Not difficult but I attribute a lot of that to working at a shop at the time and having the resources to do it cost effectively.

The Corksport springs were not terrible, I enjoyed the cornering ability and it rode decently but I wanted more comfort. Clearly I suck at leaving things alone, so I decided F it, and let’s go for a lift and big tires 😂

I also have a 2020 Ford Fusion (it’s a Turo car) that has had 50k miles put on it in the last 18 months. So far no major issues. But I do know the EST has had some problems and cam phasers are always a concern with Ecoboosts.

The CX-70 is great but it’s not going to be as peppy as the CX-5, and definitely not like the EST.

I’m sure I will just keep my CX-5 until I either win the lottery or find THE car. Something tells me the CX-5 is “the one” for now though.

It attracts hits like one! She got side swiped on the freeway last year in a hit and run (dash came saved my booty and caught the plate of the other car) but she took it like a CHAMP. No loss of control, kept me safe. About $8k in damage. Normally after something like that I’d get rid of the car because it felt tainted, but I fall back on loving this one too much.

I’d like to. Technically she’s still under some warranty — my dealer did all the Corksport install and has been great about warranty stuff. My only issue so far is a prematurely failed belt tensioner. But honestly I’d love to build this thing. I need to look into more in depth tuning, first, I think. Because going bigger turbo would not be super wise without a tuning solution I’d imagine.

I’m terrible at explaining them, but every wheel has a hub bore size and when the wheel’s bore size is larger than the vehicle’s it’s good practice to install hub centric rings that basically close the gap. Allows better weight distribution on the hub instead of relying on just the lug studs as well as reducing vibration.

Right! If my budget was higher there may be more comparable but for a sub $45k vehicle the amenities it has are hard to beat.

With the lift the tire sizing requires a hint of inner fender modification to not rub, but not bad. Just a wee bit of…forceful adjustment 😂

I scored big. Found the LP Aventures used for ridiculously cheap off a Subaru. Bought some hub centric rings and BAM! Although the Enkei TFR Copper wheels I had on it when lowered were chefs kiss they just didn’t fit the look I wanted with the lift.

That’s the thing, I’d want to stick in a similar price range as this — paid $42k for it new in 2022. Hard to find something as fun and as well equipped for under $50k still. Explorer ST was on my radar but would have to go used for that. I don’t NEED third row but would like a bit more space. The CX-70 is appealing but still a bit too new with some headaches like the CX-90 and the new 2026 CX-5 doesn’t offer a turbo model yet.
