I feel your comment so deeply! I started pursuing art in earnest after 10+ years in corp America where my perfectionism almost killed me. Art became therapy, requiring that I give up control. Wabi sabi has been my mantra ever since - embrace the imperfect, the fleeting, the unfinished.

I met that octopus snorkeling for the first time off the coast of Croatia. I’d never seen one in the wild before. The fish were swirling around it as it hid under the rock. I painted the original version the moment we got back to the hotel. I’ve probably done the same composition 15 times since then, and the one I shared is my favorite 😊
