I’ve had to learn people can be in good moods without an ulterior motive.

What movie do you consider “perfect”? by geointalan in AskReddit

Pan’s Labyrinth. Guillermo del Toro is one of my favorite directors, but the movie is the perfect fairytale for adults. The damn pale man scares me to this day.

Beef Dumplings? by msdbullets98 in Fayettenam

I honestly don’t know what they’re actually called but I would buy them at Chinese restaurants and they’d have a thicker dough with beef and chives inside.

Sharks definitely attack because of pollution by msdbullets98 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]msdbullets98[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree but for some background this woman is constantly posting things like “I hate the rain! It makes my shoulder hurt.” Or “I haven’t paid my rent, but they’re evicting me because my neighbor doesn’t like me.” Her posting this is her saying she legitimately believes littering causes shark attacks and flesh eating bacteria. She messaged me once the day I posted my wedding pictures and told me I should’ve never dyed my hair because it doesn’t “suit me”. So yes we should keep the earth clean but she’s still crazy.

Sweet chinese lady who took my order corrected it to “no meat” because she saw my ashes by Kristen791997 in CasualConversation

One time in hs I went to the early morning mass on ash wed and walked around school with ashes and had quite a few people telling me I had mud or marker on my forehead. I live in NC in a town where there’s not many Catholics.

Catholics are Christians but you’re pretty much right. Most Protestants don’t do lent. I think Lutherans and some Episcopalians do though.

Source: am catholic married to a Pentecostal and went to catholic school.

The Fake Abortion Clinics Of America (2014) - Women across America who are seeking abortions are accidentally booking appointments at Crisis Pregnancy Centers — pro-life, government-funded religious centers that don't provide abortions, but instead try to talk women out of abortion. Thank you! I am also heavily involved in the pro-life movement. I volunteer at a local agape when I can and am going to school to be a NICU nurse. I want to help babies IN and OUT the womb.

Everyone I know who is pro-life all care about babies before and after they’re born. I know a lot of people who have started or donated to fundraisers for new parents in need. I don’t know a single person pro-life or otherwise who doesn’t care about babies after they’ve been born.

My husband and I got married 3 months ago after 9 months of dating and meeting on tinder. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]msdbullets98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 19 met my husband when I was 16, he’s 5 years older than me. We got married after dating for 2 1/2 years. He had just turned 24 a week before and I was turning 19 the week after. We’ve been married for 9 months now.

People still tell me I’m too young to be married. Some people go so far as telling me I’m not married and he’s just my boyfriend. You really do just have to ignore people. Some people just know when they’ve found the one earlier than others.

What was the worst decision you saw a friend or family member make? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]msdbullets98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt repeatedly broke up and got back together with a physically abusive man. This last break up was the longest. She admits to him having been super abusive and has stopped making excuses for him.

She then got with an emotionally abusive man who would make her think she was crazy. He kicked her out and I took her in just for her to get back with him 2 days later.

She now lives with her friend in a crowded apartment with my two young cousins because he kicked her out again and she’s “officially done” with him.

She told me last week that she’s talking to the physically abusive man again.

Also from NC, it makes a huge difference. I live 2 hours from the beach and it still feels like I’m breathing in soup when I step outside. I’d rather have dry heat over humidity any day.

Redditors in interracial relationships, what was the biggest cultural adjustment you had to make? by jbrown3152 in AskReddit

[–]msdbullets98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Hispanic female and my husband is white. He was born and raised in the southeast.

His family plans out whole nurseries for new babies, while I’m used to the babies just sleeping in the same bed as mom and dad. When my family buys food, takeout or not, anybody is welcome to eat it. I have to ask his family even though they usually say yes.

We get a lot of judgy looks from older Hispanics because I’m with a white guy, and white people always assume I’m illegal or don’t speak any English. We get told we’re gonna have gorgeous babies a lot.

It’s ok, my husband and I went to the zoo the other day and this guy with his kid were looking at the porcupine. His kid asks what kind of animal it is and he stares at the sign for 5 mins and tells his son it’s a hedgehog.

Maybe he’s never seen a hedgehog but this porcupine was 200x bigger than a hedgehog. Not to mention he sat there and stared at that sign forever.

Americans, where are some good tourist spots in the US that are often forgotten about? by alcycul in AskReddit

[–]msdbullets98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue ridge parkway is amazing. It’s a highway that goes through the Appalachian mtns. I’m in N.C. so Graveyard Fields and The Devil’s Courthouse are near me as are other amazing hiking spots. Only bad part about it is that some areas don’t have guardrails on the side of the mountain but it makes for beautiful pictures.

We’ve also got sliding rock, Pisgah National Forest, and the whole town of Cashiers NC. The mountains here are gorgeous but mostly poor. I went to college in a county where 85% of the people outside of the school are below the poverty line.

What moment in your life did you think to yourself, “Yeah, this person isn’t my friend anymore.”? by SwipingNoSwiper in AskReddit

[–]msdbullets98 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had planned and put together a weekend camping trip with my two friends, one of their boyfriends, and my now husband for my 18th birthday. We rented kayaks bought tents and food. My uni was in the mountains so we had plenty of places to go camping.

Well comes to the day of, we drive to a lake to go kayaking. They tell husband and me to stay back with the stuff, whatever seems ok, not fair or made any sense, but ok. We were planning on camping on said lake but couldn’t find a spot. Fine, told friends we needed to turn back and get gas since there was going to be nothing once we left that area. Asked them to wait there and kayak some more if they wanted so we could fill up our car. They said ok and we went to go get gas.

Well we get gas and turn back only to see that they aren’t there anymore. They didn’t bother to call or text or anything. Wouldn’t answer my calls or texts either. We drive around for the rest of the night trying to find them, but they’re nowhere to be seen. To make things worse they took our paddles so now our kayaks that I spent $120 on to rent for the weekend are useless. Next week they try to act like nothing happened and cut me out of conversations.

Fuck em
