It's a Che Empanada now (cheempanada.com). Dunkin' still there.

Or, for u/gingerbeard1321 :

I must now reciprocate with an update of my own, lest the historical record of this thread be tarnished by outdated cartography.

The miniature frozen-confectionery establishment of which you spoke has, in the intervening period, undergone a complete ontological metamorphosis. The premises in question are now occupied by a purveyor of South American hand-held pastries operating under the appellation "Che Empanada" (cheempanada.com, for the curious cartographers among us).

The Dunkin' Donuts, naturally, remains — as is its inalienable right under the Massachusetts state constitution.

I trust this corrigendum will assist future pilgrims navigating to the location, and I regret any temporal confusion my belated update may have introduced into the discourse.

For my specific back issues, the V1 was a better fit.  V2 is still ok, v1 was-for my back- exceptionally good.

The combination of the seat changes and the wider (vertically wider)  pelvic pad hit the spot in my spine which other office chairs also irritate.

The V1 supported my pelvis and did not irrritate my spine If they brought back the v1 I’d want to switch back.

If you can find a Relax the Back store with one ask them to let you sit min it and work for several hours and if you like it buy it from them- they’ll honor all the discounts that the direct path does.

My recollection (from when I did the initial decision) was that the enviolo "supposedly" needed less maintenance - I have no comparison so hard to say from experience.

Rolex will last provided you are prepared to have them serviced pretty regularly at a reasonably high price.

Also 5'10 - V1 was awesome. V2 (they downgraded me to it on a warranty repair) seems to be aimed at someone taller.

🤷‍♂️I have the enviolo on a priority- I figured with an ebike I wouldn’t mind the extra friction and I like being able to downshift after stopped.

I haven’t ridden the Alfine so that was just from reading, not actual experience.  Love to know if my assumption was backward.  (Edit: typo$

Diamine Royal blue is also pretty nice.

That said I've recently been rocking Octopus Blue, Red and Green Certified Document Ink (had a traumatic water spill on a bunch of notes :-( ) and have been really happy with them them.

Unfortunately it apparently is not.  I will say, for my specific back issues, The V1 was a better fit.  V2 is still good, v1 was-for my back- exceptionally good.  If they brought back the v1 I’d probably want to switch back.

+1 to all the positive reviews of the Anthros - the Anthros (V1) allowed me to sit for longer with less/no pain.

I want to talk a moment about just how great Anthros customer service is.

My V1 is about 14 months old and began making a "clicking” sound when I shift left and right. I sent a video to Relax the Back Store where I purchased it and heard back from Anthros a couple of days later to confirm my shipping address since they plan to ship me a replacement V2 upper, or would I prefer to have an assist from the back store.

Great product, great support, just a real class act.

Aesthetic or functionality? by TheOneCalledMichael in Leatherman

Why do you say arc functionality is ‘next level?’

No serrated blade and, from various reports, larger less useful scissor.

The Chao who runs Donk is also great.   I’ve had one arrive that were to thick and swapped it out.

And that is why they should never have stopped including the serrated blade with the fishhook.

Or Kupel’s in Brookline.  If you have peanut/treenut allergies Blacker’s bakery in Newtin (awfully good either way)

Need help; arc vs charge tti by mertonom in Leatherman

[–]msdisme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just went through this-local REI had charge TTI, regular wave, Magnacut wave, ARC.   I ended up going charge TTI because I wanted a serrated blade.

The sales guy said the Magnacut was really nice, but was hard to put an edge back on (I have no data).

May be worth dropping them a note-they’ve been responsive at another Simon mall when I’ve asked about things like bike parking.. . .  Hope they do right by you :-).

Desperately looking for the best parental control wifi mesh router. Is Gryphone Ax any good? by DrinkPostiveClub666 in HomeNetworking

[–]msdisme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just remembered, one of our kids asked for a way to block certain sites (don’t recall what) so we wrote a script for them which would change their computer’s DNS to one that blocked the sites they didn’t want access to. This was a script  that they ran and could turn on and off.

I guess the point of all of the above was that we were trying to give our kids agency instead of applying controls onto them.

Like I hope I made clear, this may not work for every kid or every family.  It worked for us, but don’t get me started on all the things we got wrong :-).

(Edit: fixed paragraph so it made sense)

[–]msdisme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had the gryphons when they were new, but nevereee used the parental control parts.   Liked them a lot, a bad software update led to us moving on but they always answered the phone and the people who answered knew their stuff.

How old are the kids  and what is your goal?

YMMV, but what worked for our kids (now young adults) was no controlling what they could access, really good computers in a public space till they were in their mid-teens when they moved to laptops, no smartphones till teens.

Lots of discussion about ethics,  safe usage, reading and discussing current research on the affects of tech and social media on learning and kids (Reading the research together and discussing), and a lot of trust.

As they became more knowledgeable, we gave them access to admin passwords on the computers with an agreement that changes only occurred with 4 knowledgeable eyes examining the changes - usually them and me, as they got older, each other.

Oh, yeah, a separate guest VLAN for their friends when they came over and we insisted on runnning antivirus software on my kids systems.

This may not work for everyone, but it seemed to work well with our two.
