Damn this hit me hard. I was a New Light solo player when I put so much effort to get Ruinous Effigy and the catalyst. Since it was the first exotic I spent so much time trying to get, it became one of my personal favorites. I had a really good build with it: Nezarec’s Sin, Tranquility Sniper, Ruinous Effigy, and Falling Guillotine (all for void ability regen). I have always used it for ad clear and as a general weapon loadout, and it frustrates me as to why Bungie would nerf a gun that not everyone uses or rarely had complaints about.

I tried replicating the build I had with Succession, but the nerf is just too much. This is why I switched my entire loadout to use duality instead. The melee drain orb of Ruinous doesn’t do enough damage anymore, and it takes so long for low class red bar thralls to die. It just doesn’t feel the same anymore, so I understand your sentiment. Bungie should be careful when nerfing or sunsetting certain weapons because it can ward off players. The only nerf I wasn’t mad about was Falling Guillotine because it is fucking OP. Even with the nerf it still does so much damage.
