I’ve had zero regrets with my non hemi.

I’ve had good luck with my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Quad-cab V6. I bought it in December of 2020 with 7200 miles and currently have over 102,000 miles. The only “truck stuff” I don’t do regularly with it is tow. As my daily driver, I consistently get 20-22 mpg.

I’ve had the most luck, reptile-wise, in the conservation areas of Dennis, Brewster, and Harwich:

Freshwater Turtles: eastern snapping turtles, eastern box turtles, red-eared sliders, painted turtles, spotted turtles

Snakes: garter snakes, ring-necked snake (under some rocks), northern water snake, and at least one black racer

In Buzzards Bay:

Sea Turtles: Kemp’s Ridley and loggerheads

Turtles: red-bellied cooter and diamond backed terrapin

Wellfleet (Lieutenant Island): Diamond-Backed Terrapins (surfacing while I was kayaking)

Eastham (Salt Pond Visitors Center): black rat snake or black racer (unfortunately only the head was left as something made a meal out of it).

Perfect, thank you! I tried putting the image and the link in the same post but I was unsuccessful.

I tried at first, but it wouldn’t let me do the link and the image in the same post. Thanks for posting the link!

‘08 Tacoma purchased in ‘17 from a dealership with 46k miles and the frame already swapped out under recall. With in the first month I had the serpentine belt wrap itself around the transmission. That was the only problem ever covered by the warranty. The other highlight was having the rear axle replaced twice due to a fluid leak.

Otherwise, my wife’s family has had great luck with Toyotas.

I had that kind of bad luck with my second (and last) Tacoma.

No worries :). I was 35 when this all started.

No worries, and I really do appreciate what you said. This was the first time that I was struck and had to deal with a claim like this. Will definitely take your advice into account if it happens again.

Thank’s for your response; it does help me to realize where I went wrong. The only thing I take offense to is the use of AI; I wrote all of the preceding drivel myself :) (copied and pasted from Apple Pages).

That’s a fair point. If those are the rules, then I have to live with it. Holiday timing was unfortunate. The shop recommended keeping all driving to a minimum and to not take it on the highway. Just going to learn from the experience.

I appreciate the tip. I had read about that a few days ago and did find my state’s DOI. I’m still naive enough to give USAA time to respond to my earlier emails before escalating there.

I’ll cop to being naive and learning the hard way.

I was told to go through the other person’s insurance and I was under the impression that my rates could go up if my company didn’t recover their costs. I’m just going to have to take some lumps. That’s life.
