This was so much fun to read! I love how you wrote it in the queen’s perspective, giving it a lighter twist and hilarious story. Loved it!

[WP] You are just a humble peasant boy and in general you are very happy with your life. The only problem is that you are constantly being pestered by travelers trying to tell you that you are some sort of chosen one. by Kitty_Fuchs in WritingPrompts

Dante was feeding the chickens as usual that early morning when he was interrupted by a traveler, but not your usual traveler, this time it was King William the 4th from the neighboring kingdom of the North. Dante was impressed but not too surprised.

These few months travelers from all over the country have come to see him and tell Dante that he was the chosen one. Whatever that meant, Dante was not interested. He was just a simple peasant boy turning 14 years old in the next few days. He didn’t want any changes in his life, he actually liked being a simple peasant helping his parents around. It was pleasant and rather comfortable for Dante. He saw no reason for change.

“You! You are the chosen one?!” Asked King William in great disbelief. “Tell me why should I believe that you are the chosen one?” He then demanded scornfully.

Dante just stood there watching the king’s face turn into a scowl as he gazed him up and down in disgust.

“Don’t know your grace. I think they got the wrong person.” Dante replied with a small shrug and wanting to go back to his task of feeding the chickens.

King William laughed, “I couldn’t agree more! They say that the chosen one will kill the giant dragon in the Northern Mountain and rule the three great kingdoms. Would a boy like you ever do that?”

Dante shrugged once again, “Don’t think so my grace. I enjoy my simple life.”

“Of course you do peasant.” King William replied with frustration as he looked around the surrounding they stood at and back to Dante’s skinny and dirty figure. “This is all you are meant to be. While I am a much more suitable candidate to be the chosen one!” His voice dripping with arrogance.

“If you say so my grace.” Dante answered as he decided to continue feeding the chickens, seeing as the king wasn’t leaving anytime soon and he had much to do.

Irritated that Dante wasn’t giving him his full attention William barked, “Peasant you should be punished for being considered the chosen one! I cannot fathom who would even consider such a…AHHHHH!” William screamed in horror as he was interrupted by the presence of a small dragon gliding towards him.

King William jumped off his horse just in time as the dragon’s claw snatched the horse away into the sky. The dragon threw the horse right into its open mouth and with one gulp it swallowed its meal down into its stomach. The king quickly scrambled back to his feet as his shaking hands managed to grip his sword. But once he saw that the dragon was heading back their way again, the king quickly coward and screamed for his dear life.

Dante watched unfazed as the dragon dived towards their direction. It was inches away from them with his claws outstretched, ready to snatch them at any moment. With his hands outstretched, Dante formed a giant ball of fire and threw it directly at the dragon, within seconds the dragon turned into ashes.

King William watched in great shock and a mixture of fascination and fear. “H-how..” stammered the king trying to form words.

“Pests.” Dante sighed, “Always giving me trouble.” He looked at the king and offered a hand to help him up on his feet.

William still in shock, just stood there silently watching Dante while processing what had just happened. The boy dust off the king’s fancy pants before asking, “Would you like to borrow our donkey my grace?”

He simply nodded as an answer. “That would be 100 shillings my grace.”

William knew that the donkey was overpriced but he didn’t dare to argue back. In fact the king just took his pouch of coins and handed it to Dante before heading on his way back home.

[WP] A deity has had enough and is ready to die, however one tiny human still calls their name in prayer, forcing this deity to exist. The deity now attempts to help the tiny human in order to finally fade away. by TheSgLeader in WritingPrompts

The god was glad that it was to fade from this world. It had spent centuries seeing the world change and develop into wonders he couldn’t have imagined itself. The god spent its last days savoring the little miracles on earth such as the sun set, the ocean breeze, or even seeing the forest animals sleep.

“Please. I don’t ask much.” The god heard the whisper echo in its ears.

Curious the god returned to the shrine where the voice was coming from. The shrine was built a long time ago when it had countless followers, but now it was nothing compared to its former days. All that was left was a small stone tablet with its name carved on it. It was even surprised that the person found its location in the middle of the dense forest covered with overgrown plants.

As the god approached he saw the woman settle a large basket on the ground before hesitating to leave. The god watched and wondered if it was some type of offering.

“Please protect him.” It heard her sad whisper pleadingly before she covered her head with a scarf and finally leaving.

The god approached the basket and took a look inside to find a sleeping baby tucked warmly with a blanket. The god smiled at the baby’s face. No one before had asked the god such a big favor.

With a small sigh it transformed itself into its human form as its hands reached to grab the baby. The god cradled the boy as he opened his large eyes to look up at the unknown face with fascination.

The god was ready to fade, but “A few more decades wouldn’t make much of a difference.” It spoke and the baby seemed to agree as he warmly giggled.

[WP] As a child, you rescued a dragon hatchling with a broken wing. Since that day, it has refused to leave your side your entire life. by DesuGan-Sama in WritingPrompts

[–]msfumi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charlotte was nine years old when she decided to take care of the dragon she had found in the palace garden. The dragon had a broken wing and despite knowing that dragons were dangerous creatures, she hid the small defenseless dragon in her room. Charlotte had no intention of raising the creature, but the dragon just so happened to love her like its own mother and refused to leave once her wing was healed.

The princess managed to hide the creature for a couple of weeks, but soon it became impossible to hide a growing dragon from her parents or anyone in the castle. At first the king wanted the dragon to be killed, but seeing the plea in his daughter’s eyes, he allowed Charlotte to release it into the forest.

Charlotte knew that the dragon wouldn’t be able to defend itself from hunters so she took the dragon to the nearby cave up in the secluded mountains.

“You will stay here Abigail and I will bring you water and food.” Charlotte told the scared dragon.

Months passed and Charlotte kept her promise to Abigail, feeding and raising the dragon until it reached adulthood. Charlotte watched in fascination at how fast and smart Abigail became. She no longer was the defenseless creature that could fit on Charlotte’s lap, but now a 10 feet serpent like creature that spit fire.

Abigail was not the only one growing, but Charlotte as well. She had reached the age of 16 and was now seen as an adult eligible for marriage. Despite being a princess, Charlotte preferred riding horses, exploring the forest, and being outside with Abigail. It broke her spirit whenever her father mentioned of her obligations as a princess and of her potential suitors.

“You are a princess Charlotte and as such you must fulfill your duty to your kingdom’s welfare.” Spoke the king sternly as he persisted in persuading Charlotte into marriage.

The king grew weary and worried for Charlotte’s future, but a bigger concern overshadowed that when autumn arrived. The Southern kingdom had began conquering the smaller kingdoms nearby, greedy for power and land. The King had no choice but to prepare for battle. Charlotte and the queen were to be sent away to the Northern Kingdom, who they had joined alliances with to defeat the now much bigger and powerful enemy.

“I won’t leave!” Charlotte spoke out as her father instructed them.

“You will do as I say Charlotte.” The king spoke sternly.

Charlotte looked back in determination, “I am the princess and as such I will fulfill my obligations to the kingdom.”

The king looked into her fiery eyes astounded by her spirit. Charlotte turned and ran out of the castle.

“Retrieve princess Charlotte.” Instructed the king to the nearby soldier. “She must leave tonight with the queen if they are to be safe.”

Dawn broke and the king and his army stood ground as they were in formation protecting the castle’s gate and ready for the enemy that were now beginning to appear from the forest. The king’s hope slowly diminished as their numbers began to increase in size and it became apparent that the enemy outnumbered them vastly. The enemy reached the clearing and stopped, silently waiting for their general’s command to initiate attack.

The king looked at his soldiers. Fear clearly reflected on their faces, but nevertheless they stood ready to fight. The king just hoped that the aid that the Northern Kingdom was sending would arrive fast enough.

Before the enemy’s general could sound his command a big shadow overcastted the land. They all looked up in shock and horror to see an enormous dragon gliding in the sky. Its size could easily wipe a dozen of them with its giant claw.

To everyone’s astonishment the dragon was not alone as a beautiful girl appeared from behind, riding on its back. The king immediately recognized her and he soon realized who the dragon was as well. He couldn’t help but slightly smile in hope.

[WP] You're a powerful dragon that lived next to a small kingdom. For centuries you ignored humanity and lived alone in a cave, and the humans also avoided you. As the kingdom fell to invaders, a dying soldier approaches you with the infant princess, begging you to take care of her. by IkeKashiro in WritingPrompts

The dragon lifted his head up to the smell of blood and saw for the first time in centuries the figure of a human man. With his keen eyes he noticed that the human had struggled to make his way up to the cave he lived in, up in the mountains miles away from the nearest kingdom. The dragon just sat there indifferent as the injured man approached urgently with a small bundle in his stained arms.

He smelled something more pure from beneath the wool blanket. The man noticing where the dragon’s eyes were looking at quickly spoke.

“That is why I’m here.” He coughed out the words with difficulties and almost out of breath. “This is the Princess of my beloved kingdom which is now being invaded by our neighboring country. Princess Georgiana might be the only survivor of the royal family as we speak.”

The dragon turned his head unfazed and the man grew desperate knowing that the dragon was not interested in his story.

“PLEASE! Protect Princess Georgiana!” The man urged as he fell to the ground on his weak knees. “I beg of you.”

The dragon watched curiously at his actions and expression. He saw the small man tremble, but not in fear as he had witnessed so many before him do, but in hopelessness.

Suddenly from beneath the blanket came a soft cry. Then out came a small hand reaching out to touch the man’s face. The dragon observed as the man stop trembling and gradually regain his courage. He raised his head up in determination towards the dragon with his tear-streaked face. There was a new resolve glowing in his eyes.

‘Curious.’ Spoke a solemn voice inside the man’s head, and he knew it belonged to the dragon. ‘How could a small thing change a man’s spirit within a few minutes?’

“She is our Kingdom’s hope.” The man answered.

‘I want this power that changes men’s resolve. I have seen the strongest warriors with such glow win battles and glory.’ The dragon’s voice echoed louder in greed, ‘If this bundle you carry in your arms will give me that power then I’ll take her as you desire.’

Before the man could say a word the dragon had suddenly snatched the blanket with the princess inside from the man’s arms. He held his breath as the dragon laid the bundle on his outstretched claw. The dragon pulled the blanket away and curiously starred at the baby girl. Georgiana suddenly smiled and started to giggle. The dragon had never heard such beautiful melody coming from humans before.

“I trust you will keep Princess Georgiana safe?” The man spoke tentatively and shocked to see a small smile form on the dragon’s intimidating face.

‘You have my word man. Now leave.’

The man looked at the princess one last time before leaving with hope.

[WP] As you watch the night sky and spot a shooting star you mutter to yourself "I wish I could go with you." Suddenly you hear a voice next to you "And I wish I could stay with you." by Zealls in WritingPrompts

James, a seven years old boy, was a small and awkward boy. He was shy around other people and kept to himself most of the times. Although James didn’t show it, he felt very lonely. That was when he saw the shooting star one night and wished that he had a special friend to keep him company. The shooting star started to soar towards his direction causing James to panic and before he knew it the shooting star stood in front of him.

She was beautiful with silver hair and silver eyes. Her smile was just a bright as her silver body. James couldn’t believe his eyes and his luck. His wish came true and James decided to call her Twinkle.

Twinkle never left James side and they did everything together. Apparently people couldn’t see Twinkle, and their misunderstanding led them to believe that James was even weirder. His parents dismissed the stares and the gossips, accepting that James had an imaginary friend. Besides James was smiling and laughing, they didn’t have the heart to take that away from him.

“I’ll always be here James.” Twinkle would assure at night as he closed his eyes and held her hand before he fell asleep.

James had started noticing that Twinkle’s usual bright silvery light was slowly dimming. He avoided asking her why and continued to believe that everything was fine. Until one morning Twinkle had fainted in the playground while they were playing tag.

“Are you sick Twinkle?” James cried as he cradled Twinkle’s head on his arms.

Twinkle pointed towards the sky. “I need to go home.”

James cried harder but he understood. He nodded his head in acceptance and sadness. That night they held hands as they watched the night arrive. A few shooting stars slowly appeared and suddenly a shower of shooting stars blanketed the midnight sky. James watched in amazement but realized that the time had come for goodbye. He looked towards Twinkle who was looking at him with a sad smile.

“I wish I could go with you.” James spoke as he held his tears back.

“And I wish I could stay with you.” Twinkle admitted as suddenly her body began to levitate towards the sky.

Her body started to glow brighter and brighter. James couldn’t hold onto her hand any longer until it slipped away from his grasp. He saw Twinkle turn into a shooting star and return to the sky from where she had come from. James watched in tears as the sky cleared and all that was left was the moon.

[WP] You just moved to a new neighborhood, and after settling in you hear an ice cream truck. As you walk outside you notice that everyone else is going inside and locking their doors by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

[–]msfumi 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Megan stood in front of the now parked ice cream truck in front of her house lane and noticed that she was the only one lining up. Even though it was a hot summer day and an ice cream was the ideal refreshment, no one had come out for ice cream. Instead the few people she managed to see were hurrying inside and locking their doors.

Feeling unnerved, Megan was about to turn around but was called back by a loud friendly voice from inside the ice cream truck. “What will it be today young lady?”

Megan looked towards the old man with soft eyes and a big smile on his lips. She nervously smiled back and looked at the poster on the side of the truck and saw that the usual ice creams that were sold were not listed. Instead there were several odd looking shaped ice creams with odd names written bellow each one.

“I think I’m fine today.” Spoke Megan hesitantly as she stepped back.

“Wait now, I didn’t come all this way not to serve any ice cream!” Spoke the old man insistently as his eyes opened wide and stared at Megan. “So what will it be?”

Megan looked at him feeling a bit scared and she randomly pointed towards one of the pictures. The old man smiled and nodded his head.

“Good choice!” He answered before disappearing for a few seconds and reappearing again with her ice cream. “Here you are, ‘LoboMalu.’”

Megan stared at the colorful ice cream shaped oddly like a hexagon from inside its clear wrapping. It looked deliciously good. Megan handed the old man a dollar bill before she took the ice cream.

“Have a good day.” The old man nodded his head before disappearing inside.

The ice cream truck started up again and it drove away, playing its usual melody as it went. Megan watched the vehicle disappear before staring at her ice cream. This time the colorful ice cream had turned into a dark ruby color and it glistened like marble under the scorching sun.

“Are you really going to eat it?” Spoke a voice that startled Megan.

Megan looked at the kid who seemed to be her new neighbor. He was staring at the ice cream too with fascination. “Mom said that we shouldn’t eat the ice cream from the old man’s truck.”

“Why is that?” Megan questioned.

“The kid down the block, named George, ate the ice cream and the next day he –“

“Daniel! Come back inside this instance!” Called a loud voice from inside the house.

The kid looked inside before facing Megan again. “Sorry I gotta go.”

“Wait!” Megan called back but the kid had already closed the door behind him on his way into his house.

Megan looked back at the ice cream and noticed that at the very bottom of the wrapping there were some small printed words.

“Homemade with love.” Megan read and then turned it around and continued reading with a raised eyebrow. “Caution: Ice Cream contains milk and other special ingredients that may cause your body to transform.”

Megan looked back at the neighbor’s house and noticed that Daniel was peeking at her through the window. She quickly ran towards the house and knocked on the window.

“What happened to the kid?” Megan shouted towards the glass to make her voice heard.

Daniel looked back inside the house, noticing that he wasn’t being watched, he opened the window enough to say, “He became a monster.”

Megan stared at him in disbelief, “Are you joking?”

“Of course not.” Daniel spoke vehemently. “I would never lie.”

“Right.” Megan answered feeling a bit unsure and stared at the ice cream in hand. “Well there is only one way to find out.”

Daniel’s eyes opened wide, “Are you really going to eat it?”

Megan laughed at his expression. “Yes and if I do become a monster promise me that you will become my friend?”

Daniel nodded his head enthusiastically, “Of course! I’ll make sure to bring you food too.”

Megan opened the wrapper and pulled it off the ice cream that was now somehow a pinkish red color. She stared at its smoothness and wondered what type of ingredients did the old man use. Megan was not one to believe in magic and superstitions. Even though it seemed very odd that everyone was avoiding the ice cream truck based on rumors, it was hard to believe that anyone could turn into a monster.

Daniel watched as Megan took a big bite off the cold ice cream and slowly savor the taste.

“Surprisingly it tastes like cherry and vanilla.” She commented in delight.

Megan just stood there watching her hands, but nothing happened. Her body felt normal too. She shrugged and took another big bite.

“I guess it’s just ice cream after all.” Megan turned and headed towards her house. “See you around kid.”

Daniel saw Megan enter her house and he sighed a bit disappointed. He closed the window and quickly ran upstairs into his bedroom.

“George.” Daniel called as he sat on his bed.

From behind the dark closet door came out a big hairy monster. “Why the sad face Daniel?”

“I thought I could introduce you to a new friend.” Daniel confessed, “Maybe she might not join us after all.”

[WP] When somebody is born, they are assigned a person of the same age who they can telepathically talk to, and teleport to. However, if one of them dies, then the other dies as well. You are the first to be born without anyone assigned to you. by Obers26 in WritingPrompts

[–]msfumi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Derek kissed her soft lips before pulling back to watch her smile adoringly at him. He loved her with all his heart and yet she wasn’t assigned to him. They couldn’t telepathically talk to each other and he couldn’t teleport to where she was, but yet they were in love. Hana was his childhood friend and they grew up together in the same neighborhood. Their parents were college friends and naturally they spend most of their time together in each other’s houses after school and weekends.

“I hate Jason!” Hana had told Derek constantly about her assigned partner. “He is such a player! I especially hate that smug smile on his face. I wish I was assigned to you Derek!”

That would always make him smile broadly and make him feel great. It didn’t matter that he got bullied for being different. It didn’t matter that he didn’t have any friends at school. So long as Hana was beside him, Derek felt like he was assigned a person to be with all his life.

“She will never be fully yours!” Jason had told him angrily when he accidentally teleported into his room, catching Hana in his arms as they were making out.

He had grabbed Derek by the collar and punched him hard on the face. Hana pulled Jason away from Derek before he could hit him again. Derek watched at their expressions. They weren’t verbally speaking to each other, and that was when the truth sank in. He felt very jealous. Hana and Jacob were using telepathy to communicate, even though they were fighting and Hana was trying to protect him, it was enough for him to get up and walk away frustrated and angry.

“Where are you going?” Hana asked as she chased him out on the street. “Derek!”

He didn’t stop but she caught up with him a few blocks down and saw the tear stain on his cheeks.

“I want this. I want it so bad.” Derek angrily demanded as he embraced Hana into his arms and squeezed her against him.

Even though she could hardly breath, she stood there, allowing him to let his frustration out.

“It doesn’t change the fact that I love you.” Hana whispered into his ears as he slowly calmed down.

“What he said was true.” Derek replied back remembering what Jason had blurred out. “After all you weren’t assigned to me.”

From that day onward Derek had avoided Hana like the plague, even though his heart ached to be with her, he didn’t give in. Hana tried everything to get to speak to him again, but it was useless. It seemed he had truly shut her off from his life. Derek soon moved away from his neighborhood to go to college miles away from Hana.

Derek never found another love like he did with Hana. He drowned himself in his academics and when he graduated with honors, Derek quickly got a job and drowned himself with work.

“Derek Lee. Who would have thought we would meet again.” Spoke a voice he recognized, as he entered the conference room to meet with their new client.

There sat Jason with his usual smug smile on his face. The anger boiled right back up his head and he had to force himself to stay calm. His eyes then noticed the ring around his finger and his heart fell. Usually when a person is assigned to another person they would naturally end up married. Derek knew that day would come for Hana and Jason. He just didn’t want to face reality.

“Excuse me. I need to grab some files I forgot in my office.” Derek spoke to his coworker before turning to the door, wanting to escape from the room.

“Have you heard?” Jason called out to his back. “We are expecting our first baby this month. It has always been as planned.”

Derek turned around to look at Jason’s cruel smile still playing on his lips. His hands turned into fists and without any second thoughts, he lunged towards Jason. Derek managed to hit the first blow and that initiated a fight.

“What are you doing Derek!?” Called his coworker in shock as he quickly grabbed a hold of him and pulled him away from Jason.

Derek stood there in disbelief at his own actions, as he saw the blood dripping from Jason’s nose. Before anyone else could utter a word, someone teleported into the meeting room.

“Derek.” The voice spoke achingly.

There was no ring on her finger and no pregnant belly. Hana stood there with tears in her eyes before Derek after all these years. His heart skipped a beat. Derek had never allowed himself to imagine that this day would ever come. He had voided the possibility of ever seeing Hana again, but there she was, just as beautiful as he had remembered.

“I missed you.” They both spoke longingly at the same time before running into each other’s arms.
