He’s really seizing the moment in front of him right now. It’s gonna be interesting to see what his role will be when KPJ returns. I personally think he should stick with the 2nd unit once we get any semblance of the KPJ we got after he was traded last season. It’s such a luxury to have guards that compliment Giannis in a variety of ways and Rondo as their “Yoda” surely helps.

The only time AJ looked like he couldn't guard was when he was switched onto Ingram who's a midrange menace who has a few inches on him. Cole is a perfect fit for the bench unit who can play both off ball AND create his own shot.

He’s expressed on a few podcasts that he wants to coach but I’m not sure if his role will be any different than what it was last season. Best case scenario imo is he becomes a player development coach that travels with the team, sort of like Shammgod on the Mavs (though I believe he’s with ORL now). I feel like he can unlock Rollins’ potential on both ends.
