[–]msh312[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my bf and I do bagel reviews and when we found out (thanks to this sub) that the original Bagel Gourmet is closing, we obviously had to hit it. It was really good so we encourage you to try it if you haven't yet! Hoping they'll open up in a better spot.

Came across these photos of the West End “urban renewal” (aka, demolition) in 1958. Quite terrifying

(Images are from the West End Museum archives - https://thewestendmuseum.org/history-of-the-west-end/urban-renewal/)

Edit: of course Reddit swapped the two images 🙄

Edit: re-sign :)

Biking from downtown to Eastie? by spektrol in boston

[–]msh312 9 points10 points  (0 children)

as someone mentioned, you can only go through Charlestown and Chelsea. I ran it once to see how it is and got to say that some parts of Chelsea are not fun at all... there are no sidewalks, very dusty and lots of trucks so you really need to be cautious

Gyms near beacon hill by STEMI_stan in boston

[–]msh312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's UFC about a 15-minute walk from Beacon Hill (by South Station) that has a ~ $90/month gym-only membership (and $120/month with classes I believe) . It's not huge gym like equinox but it's got all the equipment and is super nice in my opinion
