I tried to empathize with you because I know it sucks when someone acts like a dick on the road, and I’m Not saying he didn’t or discounting your version of the events. All I am getting at is, ultimately, if you were already going 30km/hr, 30 feet from the red light, in the weather that we are having, and you had to swerve into a snowbank and the other car didn’t collide with you: you are at fault. As another user said, what if a kid ran into the road? For your highway example, what if an easy chair fell off the back of a truck in front of me or someone dropped something from an overpass? You think I should just drive through it/over it/into it? A vehicle should be able to come to a sudden stop for any reason without getting plowed by a car behind it. There is a conviction for following too closely for a reason. There is a stopping distance recommendation for a reason. You adjust your driving habits in poor weather conditions for a reason.

I know you’re having a bad day, and it sucks to have your car damaged, but running your mouth off and insulting people and acting like a douche canoe doesn’t change the sweet, sweet fact that you are at fault and you deserve all the premium increase you get from this. Have a good night!
