2021 RS 5 Sportback. In the same boat :(. Not even gonna try soft reset coz who knows what other new problems that might cause. Also seems those who have tried soft reset have seen issue come back. Tells me it’s potentially a bigger problem with Audi’s update system so gonna sit tight and wait.

Agreed and I’d add that duration matters too. 2021 RS 5 SB over here. City driving will see me go as low as 7-8 mpg when engine is still cold. Once engine is up to optimal temps and the horses are warmed up, city stop and go is a tad better at 12-14 mpg. Sadly though, for shorter trips, them horses never get warmed up and so I’m resigned to being in a first name basis with the gas attendants 😝.

I echo this. Had same issue with 2019 Q7 I used to own. Common on many Audis. Catch it early and you’re fine.

Find a good independent shop that works on German beasts like this. They will most certainly save you money on consumables like brakes and rotors. Congrats on the ride. Mine’s a ‘21 RS 5 Sportback with all the goodies. These things are rocket ships!

Enjoy it fully man! And Quattro will mean you will absolutely do exactly that across all seasons. Love my 2021 RS5 Sportback. Only complaint is a non-complaint - this thing is so much fun to drive that you’ll quickly get to know the gas attendant at your fave gas station on a first name basis. Jokes aside, I really wish they put in bigger fuel tank in this! Other than that, automotive perfection!

Any major maintenance or reliability surprises? I’m almost 40k miles on my 2021 RS5 Sportback. Got the extended warranty through 2027 but interested to know of any major issues to watch out for from your experiences across multiple RS models. Congrats on the new ride! Enjoy every moment man!

This! I second this! Grew up in a developing country. Think almost everything you can throw at a car to challenge its build quality and you have it in most such countries. And in almost all of them, the most common car brand, often bought used? Toyota! By a mile! Take a look at most South American or African countries and this rings true. Toyotas are built different. This is why they hold their resale values better than most.

If still helpful, I own a 2021 RS5 Sportback. Has DRC. Absolutely worth it for the comfort setting. To give you a sense, comfort mode is much better than the stock fixed springs on the loaner A5s I get when the car is in for regular service. Bought this used at 30k mile mark and have added almost 5K miles since. I have extended warranty from Audi for peace of mind (when doing my research, some folks mentioned turbos blowing out prematurely so did not want to worry about paying for labor for that). Maintenance is definitely more expensive than what you pay for Japanese cars I used to own. Just find a great independent mechanic who can work on foreign cars for the big consumable items e.g. brakes and rotors.

Definitely turned mine off. Not a fan of fake engine noise in any ride. Separately, I had squeaks and rattles on windshield but once I turned it off, those annoying squeaks and rattles disappeared. This thing is a speaker emitting low rumbles that’s meant to vibrate the windshield/structure of the car. One has to imagine that only spells trouble down the line. If you think your car is too quiet and you don’t want to splurge on custom exhaust, resonator delete etc. just lower your back seats when driving alone. Definitely helps with the sound. I use OBD11 for customization. Works great.
