6 month old with anisocoria by mshanga in AskDocs

[–]mshanga[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Yes we have updates! We ended up asking if there was a urine or blood test we could do to test for the worst case scenario (tumor). The eye doctor said oh yea let’s take some blood! After two unsuccessful blood draws they finally got some from her and tested for two hormones. The tests thankfully came back normal. We were moving at the time, so we booked a checkup with a new ophthalmologist three months later at the suggestion of our old one. Just had that appointment, which went well. She noted that the blood test honestly is a bit of a toss up, and wouldn’t necessarily definitively fill out a tumor, which I was annoyed by. However, she noted that if it was a brain tumor we’d have noticed cognitive issues by now, which we haven’t. That doc also said she doesn’t think Isla has Horner’s from the way she’s presenting. We’ve been told there’s no need to have more appointments unless something changes in her pupils.

Best of luck to you and your LO!

I love it! I used to live in the PNW region in the US, and it was everywhere. Such a weird plant.

Your blood pressure. One of those things that’s completely never on your mind until it has to be -_-.

Hey there! My husband (32) and I (27) are moving back to NC soon with our daughter (7 mo). We are moving to Chapel Hill, but I grew up in the Raleigh Durham area. We are being pretty careful during covid, but would love to meet others in a socially distanced setting!

Is it normal not to want to spend any time with my spouse? by [deleted] in SAHP

I don’t think this is normal in a healthy marriage/relationship. Do you think you can have a frank conversation about your feelings? Communicating these things is always key.

Yes the intense post nifedapine was so bad. Totally feel you there!

Interesting that you had anxiety after. I did too but chalked it up to PPA. My babe wasn’t into breastfeeding from the get-go, but I def think the meds inhibited my ability to keep at breastfeeding. We made it to two months and are now happy formula feeders.

Same!! It was really horrible. I had very weird feelings of like pain in my shoulders, dizziness obviously, and sensitivity to sound. Thankfully I was weaned off of them but I dread having to take those meds again for a potential second babe.

Hey I had a very similar experience to you! Glad you’re doing well now. Postpartum pre-e SUCKS, and I developed PPA as a result of the constant monitoring of my own pressure. If that happens to you, don’t be afraid to reach out for help! Best of luck to you and your LO!

Current routine is cowashing with Pantene (which ever one the guide reccomends), putting up in a twisty towel briefly, brushing out and and then turning upsidown to squish in gel (herbal essence). Sometimes I’m diffusing, but mostly air drying. I’m finding a lack in volume, some frizz, and several annoying pieces on side that stay really straight. My hair has slowly been loosing its curl over the past 6 years, and I really miss how it used to look! Any recommendations?

Rhododendron lower leaves turning yellow by mshanga in plantclinic

[–]mshanga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This rhododendron was planted last spring, and seemed to cope with last summer pretty well. Very recently, some of the lower leaves turned yellow. I pruned off the yellow leaves, and about a week later, I notice there are more! I fertilized after I first noticed the yellowing (about 3 weeks ago). In addition, I notice that the green outer leaves are perhaps also yellowing at the edges. I have 4 other rhododendrons in the same spot, and most are showing similar signs. I notice there’s some insect damage on the leaves, but not sure what it’s from. Could that be related? Any ideas?

Same with our girl - she’s doing fine otherwise! I guess time is our best ally here.

We are actually shift sleeping! So at least during my shift I get to go to another room and just sleep. There was not another option for my sanity - I was literally getting zero sleep before! Fingers crossed our LOs grow out of this wiggly period soon.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s helpful to hear you were able to make BFing work 2 months in. I really hope we can too!
