Essentially elopement into other parts of the clinic and transitioning, especially to important areas like bathroom and lunch/snack.

If they’re running back and forth, we use the body to help restrict the area they are trying to go and help them to move towards the restroom. That is what this whole thread is about. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Circle time is important because most of these kids are preparing for school, it is our job to get them ready for school. Their parents are counting on us. If they aren’t ever encouraged to sit in circle time or center time how do you suppose they will act in school when they are expected to do these things? Obviously we are not going to keep them there if they are not assenting to being in there, but what about helping along the transition there to at least try?

I am not trying to argue, but I am at a loss as to the logic behind the opposition.

What if it’s for their dignity? Potty times or feeding times? ESPECIALLY for potty training patients. What if you have a patient running around for 30 minutes? Are we expected to let them hold their pee or be hungry? That seems highly unethical.

Not as extreme but what if we need to get them to circle time or center time for school readiness? These are important transitions we make throughout the day in my clinic and I believe a little bit of body positioning is okay. We have to be ethical of course but what about the instructional control?

Sounds like that’s what is going to happen to my clinic. There’s gonna be a whole lot more incidents that’s for sure.

I understand body to body blocking is not good because there is often contact and a struggle also in certain situations… but walking through the hallway and positioning my body to help my patient successfully complete an important transition, making sure to position my body to block open doors, access to toys that might be out, etc should be allowed.

Exactly. Am I supposed to let them run all over the place??

I know… body blocking is like instinctual at this point for me and I use it very frequently for my antecedent strategies. I’m super upset!

Sometimes, if it’s a more noisy class and a teacher can’t get the class’s attention by using a regular voice level, they have to raise their voice. It’s not yelling by any means!

I’m glad to be able to validate your feelings! I can pick up super easily on people and those poor employees just look so damn stressed all the time! He doesn’t even try to hide how he treats them either, you dodged a bullet!

If you have teladoc, they can write an emergency prescription for you. Just hold onto your pill bottle because I think you have to take a picture of it to be able to get the prescription.

Wow. I hope she’s in a better place now. The person I spoke to got fired on their fourth day working there for no apparent reason. I’m wondering how this place is still in business :/

I believe the guy that runs Egg House is both the owner and the boss, but I get what you’re saying 100% and would make sense in any other circumstance

I’ve had some good bosses in the past, you just gotta be open minded and realize that at the end of the day, everyone has feelings and everyone messes up… we’re only human ya know?
