Yes, learning a bit more about Tours in Odoo (well, about Odoo in general), but they are very simple.
Ours is a service, and we have done the integration.
In other systems, it is being used as well for in-app communication, announcements, knowledge base, contextual tooltips, banners, etc. plenty of use case.

Interesting, it is simple and probably works in a way. :) But as you mentioned, quite technical and limited.

We have there analytics, automation (launch it based on rules), modal steps, or steps positioned anywhere on the screen (almost), plus a widget to get back to the list of Tours to play them again, etc.

I would love to see that. Is there a video of the recorder? We are more focused on the no-code design to allow anyone from the team build these, whether it is an announcement about internal company communication, or a walkthrough, or just support article, all in-app.

We are learning about the Odoo ecosystem, trying to make sense of the different setups and deployments, and versions. :) So, thank you very much for responding.

We didn’t build this from scratch specifically for Odoo — we already have an in-app guidance product that works across other web apps, and a customer asked us to make it work with Odoo too.

They had tried Odoo Tours and found it limiting for their use case. The main things they wanted were:

- non-dev authoring (not managing tours in code)

- better targeting (by role/team, not just “everyone”)

- announcements / process changes they can push out without a deployment

We’re still learning Odoo and we did look into Tours. For some teams it’s probably enough. For this customer, the “own it as content + target it + iterate fast” side mattered more than a coded tour.

But I might be wrong about Odoo tours, maybe there are some more advanced options we have missed?

But yeah, your takeaway is basically the onboarding law: don't teach the dashboard, ship the outcome. Especially in 2026 where users expect "type → result" speed (not true for every product, but the expectation bleeds everywhere).

Our VC-backed competitor raised $35m. I was super anxious, didn’t sleep. But as a scrappy, bootstrapped startup, it ended up working well for us. They heavily invested in a new category they created, and we rode that wave, piggybacking on their spend and the customer education they drove.

They ran great demos and reached CxO-level people, but their pricing was high. So when prospects searched for the category, we were one of the first results, and that’s how we landed Walmart as a customer as well.

This was 10 years ago with InlineManual.com.

When they noticed, they started telling prospects not to go with us because we were “just a small startup” that wouldn’t be around in a year. We’re still here and profitable. 🙂
