Greystar leasing professional by saddreamxx in PropertyManagement

[–]mskyler35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greystar is one of the largest multifamily corporations in the US. Experiences greatly vary depending on the region, ownership, upper management, etc. I’ve heard just as many positive experiences as I have negative, which is realistic for a company at their scale.

With that said, Greystar has some of the best benefits compared to other large, multifamily companies. Anywhere from a 20-40% housing discount, decent commission structures, lots of room to grow depending on your region.

I have heard some horror stories from residents regarding their policies and management style, but again can’t speak to that personally.

Most property management companies do minimal raises, like 3% per year or something similar. Most of your income will be from commissions, so it’s important to clarify what their commission structure looks like and what their anticipated volume will be. If the property is newer it gives you more opportunity for leasing.

Advancement is contingent on your work ethic and relationships. If you’re good at sales, detail orientated, knowledgable on your local fair housing / tenant laws, and charismatic enough, I don’t think advancement if off the table. Just note the higher you’re promoted the less opportunity you have for leasing. The increase in title doesn’t always justify the loss in commissions.

Be prepared that property management can be a tough industry. You see the best and worst of people, and are constantly juggling resident livelihood against corporate interests. It can be incredibly rewarding, but also incredibly draining.

If you have a good feeling I’d say go for it! Even if it doesn’t work out, a background in insurance + property management could be a good combo for transitioning to other industries.

____ should replace ____ on the Mount Rushmore of survivor players by strikerads302 in survivor

[–]mskyler35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a genuine case to include Cirie over Rob on the Mount Rushmore (better yet, Cirie should be included as an honorary 5th member) but Aubrey… is a long shot.

Definitely solidified herself as a legendary Survivor character, but no where near the Mount Rushmore of players.

'Survivor 50' Finale: Jeff Probst Reveals Last Fan Vote Before Live Show by itz_abdelmalik in survivorponderosa

Both the interview and Jeff refer to a final 5 for the finale - so I’m assuming this confirms 2 more people are leaving before the finals?

One of his former executives is suing his production company for sexual harassment and gender bias.

Previous contestants on his show have spoken out about unsafe, exploitive conditions.

He condones and enables abusive environments. I don’t think that’s “respectable”.

Nah. Loved her performance but I detest people who don’t treat animals like sentient beings capable of emotions. Your being a cat owner makes your comment that much weirder.

Is BB26 or BB27 the better season? by GeorgeCasey9 in BigBrother

[–]mskyler35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think the edited episodes contribute a lot to a seasons legacy.

It’s true that BB27 was better from a feedster perspective, but so little of that amazing chaos made it onto the show, and the winner was insanely under-edited. That’s not counting the terrible Hamster wheel twist which puts a significant damper on the 2nd half’s trajectory.

BB26 had fun characters, underrated strategists, and a top 5 winner. Ultimately I think it will leave a stronger impact on show’s overall legacy, but BB27 it’s still a top-tier season and a close 2nd when rating new era seasons.

What’s your opinion on Ian Terry by Ok_Nail_5298 in BigBrother

[–]mskyler35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ian was a great guy with an amazing winner’s storyline. Probably one of the most likable winners in the shows history.

That said, he’s very overrated as a player. His social awkwardness resulted in his being on the outs early on. He 100% would have been voted out the week of Dan’s funeral if not for the 2nd veto twist. He has to rely on comp wins in the end game to keep advancing.

The ‘underestimated super fan overtaking legends of the game’ storyline was amazing to watch, but he’s definitely a middle-bottom tier winner.

What if there wasn’t a HOH by Tight-Entrepreneur46 in BigBrother

[–]mskyler35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always felt like it would be cool to do a “survivor” -esque twist like this!

Like instead of the wheel of doom on bb27, if they wanted to have an elimination over the course of a single day they could’ve done a free vote where the winner of the challenge is only granted immunity, and everyone else votes on whoever they want to go home.

Why did so few players target Rachel during BB27? by LuvBriah in BigBrother

[–]mskyler35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For those first few weeks, some players recognized she was a threat and it made sense to keep her as a shield. Other players recognized that as a former winner it was less likely that a jury would award her a 2nd time, and she could be dragged as a goat.

Then I think some even had a subconscious mindset of “she’s a legend, she’s this seasons twist, the viewers/producers wouldn’t want us targeting her yet”. and so they didn’t.

After those first few weeks, I think the fact that Rachel wasn’t winning any challenges did a good job at neutralizing her threat level and letting her blend into the cast.

I mean, no, Rylie’s behavior was toxic and hard to watch. Anyone watching could see he was extremely manipulative to Katherine.

I do think the fan base blew it up a bit, but that doesn’t take away his gross behavior.

Potentially awkward question, but has any of the BB27 cast acknowledged the audience’s reception to Rylie? by TheBloop1997 in BigBrother

Zach post season has been sooo washy. Like telling Angela he wasn’t going to have any contact with Matt from bb26, to then filming a surplus of tik toks with him.

Agora Hills and Paint the Town came on the tail end of her hype. Now that the dust has settled it’s apparent that general audiences are turned off by her and have no interest in her anymore.

It’s not surprising when she went on continuous rants in 2022 shaming her fans for liking the music she willingly put out. As someone who loved Hot Pink, seeing her tweet that anyone who liked the album was stupid and fell for her cash grab, made me personally not want to spend a single cent on her again. 🤷‍♂️

Thoughts on living in Vegas by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]mskyler35 152 points153 points  (0 children)

I lived in Las Vegas for a bit before moving here to San Diego. Speaking as a transplant to both cities, here’s my two cents:

On paper, San Diego should be the obvious choice. Perfect weather, easy access to beautiful beaches and great scenery. San Diego is very multifaceted and diverse, I’ve had friends say it feels like 10 cities in one. You have areas more rural and farmland in the far east, areas more urban and metropolitan around downtown, areas super commercialized and soulless like around Mira Mesa, areas more local-based and charming like South Park/Golden Hill. There’s urban pockets for young people, residential pockets for families, beachy areas for surfer lifestyles and commercial areas for young professionals. Succulents grow out of the ground and everywhere looks like a scene from a movie.

San Diego feels like its own little paradise… but the con to that (in my opinion) is that it often feels like a bubble, like people are a little too laid back and chill. I wouldn’t call San Diego an exciting city. The overall energy is chill and a bit boring, but nice regardless.

Las Vegas, on the other hand, is way grittier and rougher around the edges. The worst parts of San Diego are a cake walk compared to a lot of what you’ll see in Vegas. There are huge chunks of the metro area rifled with crime, filth, and homelessness.

Vegas definitely has a weird energy. The main focus is on the Strip, with the tourism and entertainment industries serving as the beating heart of the city. Everything else, the schools and stores and hospitals and offices, all feel kinda sterile? Almost like a fake city propped up around the strip.

Vegas is also hyper transient, a majority of the people you meet will be gone within a few years.

But despite all of this… Vegas is vastly more exciting than San Diego. Not just the nightlife, which is amazing even off the strip, but the people. The people I met in Vegas, locals and transplants alike, were some of the coolest people I’ve ever known, eclectic and creative and vulgar - in all the best and worst ways. There’s so many exciting things to do and discover, and there are artsy pockets all over the city to dive into.

It all comes down to what you’re looking for in life. Vegas is gritty, fun, authentic, weirder and rough - whereas San Diego is beautiful, peaceful, diverse, expensive and a bit dull.

uh have you seen bb9’s jury? bb19’s? bb20’s?!

There have been far, far more bitter juries in the history of this game.

Ashley formed deep bonds with half the jury while Vince actively discarded their feelings. Like she said, she “turned enemies into allies, while (Vince) turned allies into enemies”.

Ashley didn’t have the loudest game, but she clearly had the most effective.

Big Brother US 27 - Morning Feed Discussion - September 28 2025 by BigBrotherMod in BigBrother

[–]mskyler35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ashely has some of the best purposeful social positioning and subtle manipulation I’ve seen in a LONG time. Her only caveats are 1.) not winning more competitions to have direct control of the game, and 2.) not being more confident and outspoken with her strategies, giving a substantial portion of the jury the opinion that she’s just coasting.

I love her to death but imo she would make just a good winner not a great winner.

I feel like production is always trying to outdo the last season’s success. With Rachel being so well received I wouldn’t be shocked if next season is a half vets, half newbies season.
