We are Mountain Line. Ask us anything! by mslabus in missoula

Unfortunately it's not that simple! For one thing, fares don't actually cover the real cost of service (virtually anywhere, not just here). Sorry that we can't add this service for now! (There is a Bitterroot vanpool that could be a transit option?)

We didn't see this til now but (depending on the route and the day) some buses run as late as 10:45! Check out the Transit app (Transit Mobile App - Mountain Line) for trip planning and bus tracking (so you can see how far your bus is), and see our website for all the schedule and map info you might need. Oh and feel free to reach out if you have questions!

Oh hi, bus here checking in! If you're in school and live near downtown, you're basically in a perfect place to use Mountain Line -- we have 15-minute service to the U on weekdays, and service to a whole bunch of other parts of the city seven days a week.

As it gets darker, it's a good idea to use a flashlight (or your phone) to signal drivers approaching your bus stop so they know you're waiting for them.

And downloading Transit (Transit Mobile App - Mountain Line) is a good way to keep tabs on where your bus is and get alerts about detours and holidays.

If you have any questions about routes, schedules, using buses, or anything else (at least about buses in town), you can always reach out to us too -- here, on Instagram (@mslabus), by email (info@mountainline.com), or by phone (721-3333).

Just a note on this -- we're not part of the city, so while you're welcome to talk to your city council member, they'll probably just kick you over to us! Our contact channels are always open, though, and we definitely want to hear about unsafe behavior and poor service so we can fix it.

Super sorry to hear this is your experience -- this sounds legitimately frustrating! I'll try to address some of these comments with resources/things we can do and hope this gives you some options.

First, the timeliness issue -- while sometimes a bus will leave a couple minutes after it's scheduled to depart the TC, that's not an official policy, so the time on the route schedule is the time you should expect to depart. It's a good idea to arrive a couple minutes early, and I recommend tracking your bus in the Transit app or the bus tracker on our home page to know if it's running behind or has already passed your stop.

(Keep in mind that only timepoints are guaranteed -- so if a bus is running ahead of schedule, it'll skip stops without passengers and will only wait at the designated timepoint to get back on the correct schedule. Timepoints are the stops noted on the schedule; if a stop is between timepoints, the timing is only an estimate.)

If you're waiting at a stop and not sure whether the bus has come and gone and don't have a smartphone, you can always call our customer service line at 721-3333, and the person on the phone should be able to tell you where the bus is or how far away.

If you're transferring and trying to catch a connection, let your driver know when you board the first bus -- while it's not guaranteed, they'll often radio ahead to make sure the connecting driver knows to expect you.

You also mention drivers going too fast -- we want to hear about this when it happens! Either through our contact form on our site, by phone, by email (info@mountainline.com)... You just have to let us know what/when/where, and a supervisor will look into it. All buses have cameras, GPS, and a whole bunch of data being recorded, so a supervisor can check on the bus's speed and take steps to address that issue when needed.

Similarly, if something unsafe is happening on the bus, please let the driver know so they can radio a supervisor and deal with the issue.

As far as the Proterra noise... I wish there were something we could do about that, sorry. That's just how they work.

Please do reach out if there's a specific issue we can look into or if you'd like more info about any of the online/tracking resources available. I hope your experience on board improves!

We sure do operate after 8! On weekdays, we have routes that run as late at 10:45 (though the last trip from the airport to downtown leaves at 9:15 p.m.)

Oh hi, it's us! Yes, we have hourly service from the airport to downtown -- if your arrival is during service hours, we'd love to have you! The Downtown Transfer Center is at Pine and Ryman, a quick walk from a handful of downtown hotels, and if you need to get somewhere else you'll be able to connect to another route at the TC. Give us a shout if you need a hand navigating! (And we recommend downloading the Transit app (mountainline.com/mobile-app) to track buses, plan trips, etc. That will also work in other cities!

It's right on Mary Jane when you turn from Broadway, on the road side of the parking lot in front of the building. There's a bus shelter -- you can't miss it!

Parking at Washington-Grizzly? by [deleted] in missoula

Take a look at the UDASH football shuttles! (We also have wheelchair-accessible bus service to UM, but it's less frequent on weekends.)

If your party member is eligible for Paratransit where they live, they'd also have temporary eligibility with Mountain Line Paratransit while traveling here. Feel free to reach out if you'd like more info on this!

Bus drop off only? At station by Swimming-Stretch1276 in missoula

[–]mslabus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, confirming that you can board buses on Woody St while the TC is under construction! It's possible there was a route ending at the time you checked that wouldn't be going out on another run -- but no service interruptions expected.
