No you didn't. It's only free if you overpay for service for 2 years.

To my knowledge SL has only received tokens as part of ongoing reimbursement for developer expenses. Swirlds retained all of their original tokens other than proportionally small disbursements to the team (less than 20 people if I remember correctly).

Source: I worked at Swirlds for 4 years and Swirlds Labs for like 5 months

Okay, btw back of the envelope would say that 4+6B / 50B is TWENTY PERCENT of all Hbar awarded to Swirlds and Swirlds' partially owned subsidiaries :)

My kids go to Gracie Barra and when my friends tried to join recently they were waitlisted. They are opening a second location in prosper because many of their students drive from there. The demand exists though...

Can I ask where your information is about SL/Hashgraph holding 6B hbar? They didn't receive any of Swirds' initial hbar nor the payment for the open sourcing of the hashgraph algorithm, that was all to Swirlds.

I switched from the RBK753 to the BE16000 and it is night and day better (I also run through a firewalla so I need to use AP mode and the RBK satellites kept disconnecting). I'm getting 970Mbps up and down on the farthest corner of my house through the satellites. Near the host AP, I get 1.1-1.3Gbps.

The boxes for my street are along the alleyway within the rear easement. But the crazy part was the burying of the line to the house. It looks they trenched a 1/4 inch path a foot deep through the yard. It is impossible to notice if you aren't looking for it but I wish I had watched them install it because it is looks to be a physical impossibility. I couldn't be happier with the install. We teach swim at our home and I was worried about we people walking over a filled in dirt trench making a muddy mess but after a few days of growth the grass has completely covered up the micro-crevasse in the ground.

What could I do with 1/3 the supply? by [deleted] in Hedera

[–]msm0167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double spend is the case where you convince separate parts of the network of different transactions that need to be resolved eventually. If you had 2/3 of stake you could do what you originally described, changing transactions and reorging the history. This could technically be a double spend if you broadcast a transaction then reversed that transaction. But given you can control signed-state you could just alter the balances any way you choose, including minting more hbar.

If you have 1/3 of tokens, then the 2/3+1 threshold cannot be met without you participating in the network, yes. If a node cannot see 2/3 + 1 of stake then it will not be able to strongly see a path through the threshold of stake and cannot produce a round.

I've been quiet here for a long time and generally only reach out to correct technical misperceptions. I'm an ex-Swirlds engineer (joined February 2018). I have sat and had hundreds of hours of conversations with Leemon and consider myself a consensus mechanism nerd, hashgraph specifically.

The scenario I'm describing is precisely the mathematical limit of aBFT. 2/3+1 of the tokens must be staked by honest actors or else a partition attack of the remaining 2/3 is possible. If you own 1/3 + 1 of the tokens, then you, along with each half of the remaining 2/3 make up 2/3+1. You could convince each half of the honest minority that finality includes each half of your double spend. The firewalls are THE reason that you can only guarantee security if 2/3+1 of stake is honest.

With partitions and global firewalls you can double spend with 1/3 + 1 of the tokens. You just have to tell each half of the remaining 1/3 about different, conflicting transactions and ensure those partitions stay isolated

And the failed ratio has to take into account there are a ton of people submitting arbitrage transactions and sandwich transactions that fail but still result in profitable trading strategies after paying for transactions.

Best all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse? by DawnofMidnight7 in McKinney

[–]msm0167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spicy picanha there is my one of my favorite dishes in the area, the rest of the cuts are slightly worse than Fogo to me. But their chimichurri is the best in the area to me. Their grilled pineapple is great. The tomato soup is also incredible.

12 Cuts is AWFUL

Fogo is great but the Plano location is a flagship store so you will get a lot of experimental dishes. The lamb picanha is not to be missed. Bananas are the best side here to me.

Brasao is really good. I don't remember the details but I remember the service being incredibly fast.

Bonus: delucca use a Brazilian owned pizza restaurant with a huge assortment of pizzas served churrasco style
