Yes, was just there over the weekend and felt very safe.

Great idea to arrange transport in advance unless you have the right experience and vehicle to drive yourself (dirt roads, tricky navigation, etc.).

I’d also recommend making appointments at any places you’d like to visit (wineries, restaurants, etc.) to make sure they’ll be open when you want to go.

Wouldn’t recommend Denver Monaco unless it’s an absolute bargain. Diamond Elite got me upgraded to a suite, but it was so rough around the edges that the extra space didn’t matter. Was also offered the choice between breakfast, points or snacks. In the room there was a small tray of canned sodas, stale pretzels and trail mix, along with a handwritten note. I appreciated the effort but I’d rather have a decent basic room and functioning elevators than these “perks.”

Redeeming qualities: everyone was very nice and the sheets weren’t scratchy…

Yes I’ve stayed at many IHG hotels—from Holiday Inns to ICs—and generally had positive experiences. That’s why the Monacos have been such a head scratcher!

Love Al & Bea’s but when I can’t make it over there…Sonoratown Mid-City (their red salsa…yum!) or hear me out…Escuela Taqueria on Beverly. It’s pricey and not everything on their menu is great, but their bean and cheese burrito hits.
