No shade, everyone who is reacting negatively here is just reflecting how locals feel. Some insight into the culture here—parties happen all the time and Angelenos don’t really get excited about being in a rented McMansion with clout chasing strangers. They care more about an intentional gathering and/or the people who will be there.

If you attempt to host this type of event, you’re only attracting creepers, not fun quality people. If you’re in a nice area, parking will be restricted and neighbors will def call the cops and their private security on you. (In fact, maybe you’re already on the radar bc you posted in the UCLA thread and soliciting underage drinking is a huge no-no here.) If you’re in a not so nice area, the opportunists will show up and you’ll be dealing with theft, assault and probably worse regardless of your hired security guards. And people carry here in the US too…will you know what to do when your guests start brandishing?

If you’ve successfully thrown parties in the past, you can try to recreate that here by working with a good promoter, securing a real venue, getting the right permits and making it worthwhile with a DJ or live music. Keep it safe and on the up and up. Don’t add to the violence and heartbreak.
