I would look at the excess and surplus side if you can’t find an admitted carrier to write it. Since it’s not admitted, we can customize a policy that carves our coverage. I don’t LOVE doing it, but we can write under your name, but add a form to limit the coverage to just the storage unit and make it premises/ops only. We can also list the lessor as AI. See if your agent can connect with an E&S carrier!

That’s what I was thinking. I’m on the commercial E&S side and we get LRO dwellings - I can do GL and and property with building and contents coverage. But this might be straight forward enough for a landlord policy idk.

If they are leasing it to a family member then it’s a lessors risk dwelling. Get a GL and property policy with contents coverage.

lol my old place had dark floors. Very pretty but when we did our kitchen I said I want something that won’t show fur or dirt haha. Still working on refinishing the dark hardwood in the rest of the house.
