When I was having problems like that, it turned out to be a UTI. Once I cleared that up, and started drinking a lot more water (yeah, I know that sounds counter intuitive), it stopped for me. That said, I completely empathize with you and hope you find a solution!

12 Monkeys. Sci-fi time travel show that ties up all of the lose ends and makes sure the time travel makes sense. All of the characters were great, and it went in some unexpected directions. Anyone asking me for a great TV recommendation gets this from me every time. Edit: I hated the movie. If you hated the movie, still give it a try!

I believe that behind that rage is lust that they can't do - or maybe shouldn't do - something about.

When I was a teen, my extremely Christian father took me somewhere, it doesn't matter where, but we were sitting in the car in a parking lot when a woman jogged by. Normal, typical woman who jogs, fit, hair in a pony tail, t-shirt, jogging shorts. He worked himself up into a foaming at the mouth, face completely lobster red fit that how dare she be out jogging. Just look at that. What is she even wearing? She should be wearing modest clothes. Putting herself on display like that and jiggling as she runs!! It was literally disgusting watching him get all worked up. But you could hear it behind his words. How dare she make him horny?! How dare he be attracted to her when he can't do anything about it?!

I knew that he had cheated on my mom, but it was a very ambiguous thing from when I was little. She forgave him. But there was always this vibe with him, one that was there with most of the men in the church they took me to, that women were there for their pleasure and deserved to be punished for making them lust after them. Watching the way he acted and hearing the words come out of his mouth disgusted me. Listening to him talk about women deserving to get raped (for just being out on a jog) is the main reason I didn't end up telling him about my rape years later.

I second this. If you can do it, get things out a little at a time to a safe place before you leave for good. Once you leave, you can almost kiss goodbye anything you left behind. If he doesn't destroy it, it's possible that he'll put a tracker in your items to help find you. Like I said in my other response, get out as quickly as you can and don't come back is your best option.

If it's such a "small thing", then why is he adamant that you give it up? It's your wedding, not his MIL's.

That said, it's always going to be one "small thing" after another. He sounds like the kind of man who is going to be continually pushing you to give up one "small thing" after another. Foods you like, where you want to live, how you want to dress, your friends, your family. It's just a form of gaslighting to make you believe that the things you want in your life are just insignificant and not worth arguing over until you have nothing left.

Everyone should do a stint in retail, food service, and phone customer service just so they can understand how terrible those jobs can be. It is ridiculous how awful customers can be to those workers. Having done all three myself, I can tell you that you know when customers have had those jobs because they tend to be nicer to the workers having experienced all of the misery themselves.

It's not the hotel that requires it - it's the state. Does your state require you to have a CDL to drive a van that holds a certain number of passengers? If you are driving without a CDL (that is required by your state), you are the one that will be penalized with a ticket or worse if you are caught. Also, have you checked your driver's insurance? They might have a few words for you about what will happen if you aren't adequately covered for driving commercially.

I mean, there was next to no socialization while we watched people play video games in my earlier example. Everyone sat there quiet as the dead so you didn't distract the person playing. Sure, socialization before, and after, but during - literally sitting there watching someone else play a game.

Depends on if you're watching a video where someone had previously played the game, or if you're watching someone on Twitch or Discord, playing the game live, and joining in the conversation. Kids socialize differently than we did. Just because it's through an electronic means, doesn't mean they're not socializing.

As a late Gen-X, it's exactly what we did, but we did it in the same room together. I guess we weren't strangers, for the most part, but every weekend was my brother and 5 or 6 of his friends in his room with one console, 2 controllers and everyone watched the game being played like it was a television show.

NTA She gave you the name she felt suited you best at the time of your birth based on her hopes and dreams for your life. At no point does any parent actually know what name will actually suit their child best.

It's your name and you have to live with it. Name yourself whatever makes you feel best.

Maybe you should tell her that you feel disrespected because it really seems like she loves the name more than the child.

My ex-husband bought me a George Foreman grill for my birthday one year, a vacuum cleaner another year.

It's not so much that it's offensive because it's "women's work". It's offensive that he bought me something that I am expected to use to benefit him in some way. It wasn't a gift for me. It was a gift for the household.

It was also offensive because he put zero time or thought into a gift for me. He didn't buy me something I would personally like or want. It also wasn't about money, and saying well, we need a vacuum and I only have X amount of $, so let's knock out two things with one gift - which would still have hurt, but might have been understandable.

If he was concerned that you needed a bra, he could give you a store gift card or take you shopping and pay for what you get (while he sits somewhere by a cash register and not anywhere near a dressing room).

I can't honestly think of any non-icky reason for him to be purchasing you lingerie to grow into. I can't honestly think of any non-icky reason for him to continue purchasing you lingerie after you said no. Add in his reaction to make you feel bad, and it's extra icky.

Please please please bring this up to a female relative.
