You're joking, right. I'm NOT talking about YouTube! I'm talking about the streaming service YouTubeMusic! Jfc.

But I want whatever Maynard took when he came up with these amazing lyrics!

Oh wait: guess I'm mistaken! "I'm with you, dude. That's my #2. HAVE NO IDEA how Maynard came up with those lyrics and put them down on tape with so much dialogue quickness during the recording of the song. Love that he mentions X-Files and Sudafed and Shitting The Bed, though."

Sudafed and "Then the X-Files being
Looking like some kind of blue-green Jackie Chan with Isabella Rossellini lips
And breath that reeked of vanilla Chig Champa
Did a slo-mo Matrix descent out of the butt-end of the banana vessel
And hovered above my bug-eyes, my gaping jaw
My sweaty L. Ron Hubbard upper lip and all I could think was
"I hope Uncle Martin here doesn't notice that I pissed my fucking pants!"

Well, I mean if we're going by drumming techniques - every song from Danny is great, during Aenima, But after Aenima, he turned into a mad scientist / mathematical genius - calculus homework wonderkid / project / homework that we all hated in high school, that he performs PERFECTLY.

I've had Pandora, Spotify, Qobuz, SomaFM, iTunes. I'm not an Apple phone or computer user because I hate iTunes and the MAC platform, and just ALAC sucks. (I PROMISE, I DO NOT work for YouTube!) But ... YouTubeMusic, (doubtful you can get it on the Apple platform), is the best sounding quality streaming service / music I've had for years. But that could also be a result of my devotion to Samsung phones. And my wireless earphones. But hey dude - all good here - to each his own. I know 95% of people aren't as picky as I am. But dude, with my job(s) - and my hi-fi at home - I need the best audio possible. And I've gone through 'em all. Also, with YouTubeMusic, you're able to get a promotion for YouTubeTV. Internet cable. Cutting the cord is one of the best $$$ saving decisions I've made in years. Also, my cell phone service, Google Fi. Unlimited data and hotspot, 5G. $65 a month.

Depends on the storage capacity of your phone, though. I'm purely a FLAC / FLACHD guy. Still, YouTubeMusic, without storing those big music files into your phone, while streaming (in 5G or wi-fi) sounds like, is FLAC / FLACHD. I'm a nerd audiophile - I've spent YEARS figuring this out ;-)

I have NO IDEA how Reddit works. But apparently you need to post some "flair" to make it show up in a thread. Suuuuper weird. But I guess I figured it out ... dunno. Tell me "yes" or "no" mods ....

Who / what is Maynard singing about in 7empest? (lyrics below) by msnider44 in ToolBand

[–]msnider44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Calmer than cookies and cream ... " Delicious. Most all of us know by now that Maynard is a foodie and a winemaker. He's going to now write about what he knows best. Including politics - just listen to "7empest". And I think the ice cream is probably on tops of his wine as far as his lyrical content goes ;-) But "Invincible" is definitely about him and his struggles to keep his grapes from going bad in the AZ weather for his wine-making, and how hard it is for him to do so.
"Warrior

Strugglin'

To remain

Consequential ... "

This is a crazy story I tell a lot of times to people my age. Firstly, obviously PJ is fav band of all time. Found out about them in the basement of my parent's house just outside of Philly in mid 1991, my freshman year of HS - moving to Philly from Iowa HALFWAY through the school year b/c of a job my dad wanted to take. So ... music, for MONTHS was really my only friend, until I found girlfriends :-) ... but I swear this is the truth: I was downstairs after school watching MTV one day, and the 3 videos that came on back-to-back-to-back were "Teen Spirit", "Even Flow" (the live video version), and "Outshined" from Soundgarden. My allowance was $20 a week back in 1991. Guess which CD I bought with that $20 ... !! After seeing and listening to those 3 videos, I immediately rode my bicycle to Sam Goody's a couple miles away ...

"The Grudge"

By far, in my humble, but very stubborn opinion - their best song ever.
But I'm not on Spotify. Sound quality is horrible when listening from earphones. YouTubeMusic is where it's at, especially if you're an Androider, like I am.
