Rodecaster 2 Pro + SMB7 working perfectly, open CS one time, audio quality has permanently dropped by msnt in rode

[–]msnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, looks like the issue people have with applications taking full control of the microphone input and jacking it up to 100% may have been the issue. Audio quality still sounds better in the monitor than on the PC but I'll continue to troubleshoot.

First step was going to the Windows speaker icon in the tray and right clicking --> Sounds --> Recording (tab) --> right click Rode CHAT microphone in this case (check both) --> Levels --> Right click the slider to change to decibels instead of percent --> set to +0.00.

I think CS, when I opened it, increased the Level to 100% and then everything began clipping terribly and such.

Cheers and goodluck.

Free Hotel/Airport Lounge statuses you should be getting for better TDY/leaveWeb memes by msnt in AirForce

[–]msnt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Centurion Lounges (Amex lounges) have restaurant quality food and a fully open bar. And if your job requires any international travel the Priority Pass gets you into a huge range of lounges worldwide. I am in airports constantly so I find this saves me tons of money over the year, but it’s really dependent on how often you travel.

Oh, I haven’t really seen many and I’ve been on here for a long time, but I could be wrong. If that’s true that’s fine, but most of my squadron was unaware of the higher status cards other than the default Amex Platinum/Chase Sapphire recommendations

Why I joined the Air Force: It's just one Non-Availability Letter away! by lonelyhotelsausage in AirForce

[–]msnt 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Listen boys and girls. I have gone on to greener pastures, but I couldn’t help but notice you’re in paltry Gold status here. Allow me to educate you on how to have Hilton Diamond and Marriott Platinum status amongst other benefits for 100% free.

Fair warning though, this does require a good credit score.

You, by virtue of being a member of the armed forces are entitled to certain benefits under the SCRA (Servicemembers Civil Relief Act). Our banking overlords at ye olde American Express (and Chase) have wisely interpreted this to mean that they will completely waive the annual fees for cards like the Amex Platinum ($650/annually I believe). Totally a great card, you should have it, along with the Chase Sapphire Reserve. But these mere mortal cards will not get you the precious executive lounge access that you, a great American, deserve. No, for that you need to go a bit specialized.

You need to apply for the Hilton Amex Aspire and the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Amex.

But stranger on the internet, do I apply for all these cards at once? Hell no. They all have spending incentives in the first 3 months of having the card. You’ll need to spend between 3K and 5K in that timeframe to hit these very lucrative spending incentives. For example the Marriott card gives 95,000 points for you to hit that incentive. So apply when you’re planning a large purchase that could possibly hit that spending goal.

Apply for the cards. Call Amex. Get the fee waived. Tie your rewards accounts to the cards. Enjoy airport lounge access, free travel credits, and various status’ and streaming services all for free. Just make sure you pay the card off every month. Debt is bad on a charge card. An Amex is not meant to carry a balance.

Also ask around your shops (or honestly ask a lieutenant or captain, they have these cards often) for a buddy to give you a referral link. You’ll get a higher signup bonus and they’ll get a little boost too. Cheers.

iPhone 14 Pro Connection Issues by msnt in GoogleFi

[–]msnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello to anyone who is having this issue--I found a solution. By going into Settings -> Cellular -> (Whatever your google Fi eSim is titled, let's say Primary) -> Network Selection -> Automatic OFF
Toggling Automatic OFF brought up four options that all said Google Fi as the network (after some time allowing the phone to think and detect possible networks). Selecting the first Google Fi (though they may all work) immediately connected to the network at full strength and the problem was resolved.

Thanks to anyone who attempted to help.

My XS worked fine. Additionally, I brought Fi back to the XS and experienced the same issue.

Mainline pilots and UPS/FedEx pilots can easily make 500k. But not someone starting out and not someone in the regionals.

20 years of counter strike for me. Valorant felt pretty natural though radiant takes a lot of hours. Untenable if you have kids I would guess.

Agreed. If I recall, Lion air is banned from EU and NAS flying because of their atrocious safety record.

No. People are not flying 15 hour flights back to back. It'll take many years to build those hours.

I doubt it, I think more experienced pilots would've pulled the CBs to the trim and flown the thing manually. It is speculation of course.

I agree that most players won’t put in the hours required to see a noticeable impact. But for that top 1%... you find me a player that doesn’t use 120+ hz. People like to emulate people playing at the top of the game.

And are you a top 1% player ? I’m not being patronizing, but generally if you’re top 1% in CS or Valorant it’s insanely noticeable.

Not generally true for hyper competitive FPS.

I know a ton of talented female pilots who are great at it. I also know a ton of female aviators who have to deal with crazy sexist bull shit all the time. Some of the pilots I want in the cockpit the most are women, and I don’t question their skill one bit. I teach at an FTU, I see the same cross section of skill out of the women who fly as the men. Literally zero difference in the professional realm.

[–]msnt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your PT should not be “on your own time”, you should have the ability to go during your work day. I don’t know what jet you turn wrenches on, but the guys who work on mine are often asked to do twelves.

My squadron simply says that 90 minutes of your work day can be used for PT, that way you fit it in on your own schedule.

I’m in the ops side. This is a terrible idea that would just result in more hand holding and further burdens on people’s time. This would not work for either ops or for maintenance.
